That's why I said that even native Japanese people are having issues with the things he said. Because when I read it I wasn't sure if I interpreted it right, but according to jpn fans it looks like they try to not make it about gays falling in love, but that they just happened to fall for "a person". And that it's something not pure about gay people in love. Tbf the whole press con looks scripted af so I hope someone from pr made him say that.

It sounds like the actors are ashamed of BL tag, and that maybe TV Tokyo made changes to erase their sexual identity. I still hope that it was unfortunate wording on actors side, but I'm not so exited about it anymore. 😞

It's okay if you don't like it, but many people do and I feel like saying it's not a "good BL" is wrong. This is mainly a comedy not a romance and Akafuji was portrayed as a loser mega-simp from the start.
