The way this show talks about intersectionality is really great, I like how akk's struggle is not just with his internalized homophobia, but with his class and the fact that scholarship is basically his only ticket to the 'bright future', and he clings to it desperately, trying his hardest to appeal to higher-ups
And Ayan gets it, I think, and this is why he cuts him some slack despite akk committing what is essentially a hate crime.
It's really sad how teachers use Akk and Khan /who are obviously trying to repress their own queerness to fit in better/ to keep openly queer students in line
it's just sooo good, i can't wait for the next episode
never imagined khao will be so good at playing horny bitch with manipulative tendencies (though First has already done that before lol), but he is just amazing in this role
I was never able to really get into any of the series that were based on JittiRain's books. It's just a personal…
And I'm not really sure where the problem with the script is coming from, there are some excellent scriptwriters in gmmtv. Yes, some dramas they make are kinda meh, but there are always more than a couple really good ones every year. Maybe I'm mistaken, but vice versa seemed to me like a project they put some stakes on in hopes it will do well, I don't know why they didn't assign it to their better scriptwriters
I was never able to really get into any of the series that were based on JittiRain's books. It's just a personal preference, but pacing and overall emptiness of the story always leave me a little disappointed somewhere in the middle of the show despite good start
Jimmy is really cute, their chemistry is pretty nice, but I feel like it's not nice enough for it to solely keep my interest
Fully appreciate gmmtv's self-own with third's horrible taste in movies and the fact that gay marriage is legal in the universe where 2gether doesn't exist
jimmi is the cutest, I'm really liking him in that one
It's so good and so ridiculous, I'm watching it every week with a huge stupid smile on my face
though Chen's reaction in part 4/4 made me really sad, I know they needed some conflict at the end, but I hoped he wouldn't show such outdated attitude towards sex work
do you think that media has no deeper layers because it is made by asians queer people or what? but it's fun that pointing out the fact that queer show is talking about queer people and their experiences somehow makes you uncomfortable, to the point when you claim that any not literal interpretation is 'overanalyzing'
They speak third gender language (using ha/kha instead of khab), so it's fair to assume they are not cis men at least
and i'm not saying that the plot is about transphobia in any way, i'm just saying that the story so far seems like a metaphor for actual queerphobia/transphobia
ofc they were fighting about uniforms, but it is obviously a bigger problem than just that, because otherwise teachers /i assume it is evil teacher or teachers as always/ would not be trying to murder/cause serious bodily harm to them and instead would just apply normal discipline. It's about nonconformity, freethinking and independence that for some reason cannot be tolerated in any way in this school.
it's hard to believe that take 'this queer show indirectly talks about queer experiences in society, with school being a part of it' is somewhat controversial lol
the opening of the show is literally someone attempting to murder three nonbinary/trans kids because they are outspoken about rules for self-expression being atrocious and outdated /i doubt someone will really try to murder kids just because they don't want to wear ugly blazers or whatever/ and then no one of the adults pays any attention to their concerns about someone threatening their lives, and the kids who do pay some attention blame it on the 'curse'
at least in my opinion, it's pretty obviously a metaphor for transphobia or queerphobia in general, especially considering the fact that the show was directed by non-binary person
It reminds me of the gifted a little, though i wish it was a bit darker in tones. Really hope for fast-paced romance, so there is time for them to run around and fight the ̶g̶o̶v̶e̶r̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ director (?)
from pilot I kinda thought it will be more heavy on supernatural element, but I'm okay with transphobia being the big villain too
And Ayan gets it, I think, and this is why he cuts him some slack despite akk committing what is essentially a hate crime.

side note, vee grabbing mark by the neck to kiss him in the last couple episodes was so hot, my brain short-circuited
