After finally finishing this I can say that Chris Wu and the side couple were the stars of this series. I didn't like Shao Fei's character at all to be honest. I found him annoying as hell, and I didn't feel much chemistry between them. I wish he was another actor and made his character more mature. I don't know why they had to make him childish like this! the other couple were cute and childish yet adorable and made sense. but Shaoi fei and Tang Yi weren't a good match in my opinion, but Chris Wu made it look hot. He would make anything look hot tbh even if he made out with a gorilla lol
Just finished the last episode. I know I'm late to the party. I wanted to watch this series for a while but a lot told me it's dramatic and will get me depressed so I didn't watch it. but now I can say that it wasn't really that dramatic! It was a cute kind of drama not the type that will destroy your soul. it's very sweet and pure. But I must say the crying was way too much and unnecessary! even his brother told him you're such a crying baby! also the "I wanna pee, water started to run from my eyes instead" is the weirdest and funniest sentence ever lmao but overall a very beautiful series. very real and natural. diffidently has a different feeling to it than anything we ever watched before.
That quick kiss after he told him " There's another role you don't have yet, my boyfriend" felt real and not in the script that's why both laughed! I love moments like this
Very good show. But Teh's facial expressions (and face.. sorry) were a little bit of a turn off for me.
He actually looks super cute in some scenes, but yea he looked weird in some other scenes too haha especially when crying. when I started watching I thought why the hell they hired this guy! but around episode 3 he started to grow on me.
Thanks for sharing. we both keep coming to this page we live here now lol
In an interview the director said that he didn't want to get super handsome men to play them when they're old. because we're not gonna feel sorry for them if they're hot. The point was for us to feel bad for them that they lost their best years and that they look different now.
Oh and that mainland china's film industry is how you do a real bl film!!!!....not that bromance crap!!!! Now…
Actually those uncut clips makes you more depressed. like the credit was the most painful part of the movie for me. It makes you feel more sad for them. I love how @Whiterose451 described it. that no one died, but their time and youth was wasted.
That part where A-Han was protecting Birdy from his father! wow even tho it was an aggressive scene but the amount of love in it made me so emotional! :(
This would definitely would not appeal with the younger generation... With someone like me that had to go through…
It's not only about a conservative country. There are a lot of guys like Birdy who are afraid of their sexuality and would rather run away from love even if the country is cool with it. This story is still happening now everywhere.
A movie to remember for decades to come. I have a question I hope someone answer it. A-Han played the song for the first time to Birdy on the phone when they were away from each other, but at the end of the movie they both were singing it together does that mean they met again after their day on the beach ? because A-Han said the beach day was the last time they saw each other.
