I think because the police was still involved and the case was not solved yet! They didn’t even let Mu sees him until much later, but you are right the Dad should have been there his character is a drunk and really has not had any development.

Yeah, that’s why we will only know in the next few episodes. We did see some surgeries happened while he was unconscious so it’s likely they will stay with the book.
