I think it had less to do with the way they were interacting and more the fact that they were interacting that way, also they had obviously gone shopping together, they had a trolley, fruit; he already knows they worked together on the bus stop .... But they were acting friendlier than they should have, in his eyes, also he would have had to see them before that scene as well, like a few seconds before he shouted his name ... Enough for him to notice something is fishy.. (My interpretation)

It was but it's context. In a western country, as emotionally and love charged scene as the staircase would have impeded with a kis or something, and so people felt short changed, but on rewatch I could see the way Pran holds Pats neck, as if wanting to pull him in but refraining because they were in public, and the way pran pulled him in for a side hug... I love that scene now... So it is understandable.. and I love BB, and will be better at taking things in before commenting..
