as one of the previous commenters said, the novel is like 800 chapters long. and its even finished - in contrast…
Tbh I suggest you read from the beginning. Although the general outline of the novel is the same, the changes they made are not minor at all. And those changes start from literally chapter 1.
To name some things without spoiling too much: they deleted the childhood friend of Fan Xian. They changed the wedding date of Wen'er and Fan Xian. They changed the personality of Fan Xian's brother halfway through. They also made changes about Fan Xian's mother. And a bunch of other things I don't want to spoil more than this (and it's been too long since I read the novel and I can't honestly remember much of the other info even if I want to....)
no one is talking about them except two people , i believe it's one person who created two accounts to hate on…
It reminds me of crazy marie from Viki website. Her hobby is watching all of Yang Mi's TV series and writing hateful comments about her characters lol.
I honestly found it a little sad . Why do the women always have to suffer so much for love.
I'm 4 years late :), but here's my opinion:
Tbh, didn't Ye Hua also suffer a lot? I get that producers kinda decided to skip a large portion of it (those 300 years in the middle) but I'm sure his suffering was pretty much comparable to SuSu. Especially after the misunderstandings about Mu Yuan and fighting the 4 beasts, sacrificing his arm, sacrificing his cultivation, etc. etc.
And Li Jing was a living tragedy from beginning to end lol. Even Dong Hua suffered quite a bit, especially in the mortal world. He literally died out of heartbreak. And even after that he obviously was still suffering. Although, he is much older and a god born from stone. Which was why he showed his true emotions less compared with Bai Feng Jiu.
Same with the story of Zi Lan and Yan Zhi. Tbh I felt Zi Lan suffered much more than Yan Zhi because he felt he had betrayed Kun Lan Mountain (because he let Yan Zhi refine the pill).
But I see what you say. The main characters in the main storylines were female (Bai Qian / Su Su and Bai Feng Jiu), which resulted in viewers spending more time with them and getting a stronger impression of female characters' suffering and thinking that male characters didn't suffer much compared to them.
I downloaded the wrong Fox spirit matchmaker anime, it is set in modern time. Please someone should help me with…
The 3 "Fox Spirit Matchmaker" TV series that are currently being filmed are covered in different arcs of the anime. The anime has multiple arcs, the main storyline is the modern-day storyline, and in each arc we get flashbacks about a different story in ancient times. The arcs that are covered in these 3 series are the stories of the past of the modern time main characters: Tushan Susu/Tushan Honghong, Dongfang Yuechu, Wangquan Fugui, and Tushan Yaya. Each story is covered in a different arc of the anime (and manga). However, they would most probably change a lot of details here because giving a proper storyline just from the manga/anime details should not be possible (unless they decide to film a new series about the modern-day storyline later on).
I can't give any more info without spoiling the story :\
I mean, I obviously read them before I got to your comment :|
The problem is, other than the fact that Oda played a small role (it seems he chose a few actors as I heard), I couldn't find much other reasoning that we can count this as a "Japanese" series. Not to mention, pretty much all the actors/actresses/producers are surely not even Asian, not to mention Japanese. I'm having a hard time associating this with a series suitable for MDL.
At best it seems like >90% American and <10% Japanese to me.
But I might be wrong if there are any official announcements that Japan played a significant role in the production and directing of the series.
Wtf... This is a Western series, not an Asian one. What's it doing here on MDL?!
And before anyone screams ODA at me, I add that just because Oda had some small part in the production doesn't mean this is a 'Japanese' or co-Japanese series.
Anyway, I don't have a problem with the series itself. It was pretty good.
Absolutely loved your review. I agree with every point (except that I didn't find FL to be that 'smart' tbh).
Honestly, I'm in shock I had to scroll down this much to find a negative review.
What's going on in kisskh recently lol. I'm starting to feel I'm crazy because I've stopped watching half of the 'high-ranked' series that were rated highly in the past 2 years.

The cast does look quite fitting as I see

Idk why but in the last 2 years most ratings on this website have gotten a wrong turn... they weren't this bad before
I swear sometimes I feel I've gone crazy when I compare my favorite series with the given ratings lol 😗
Her relationship with Zhang Zhe was so nice, sweet, and well-made. What kind of dumbass writer would replace Zhang Zhe with an ass*ole like Xie Wei.
However, it does seem like fans prefer a toxic relationship with Xie Wei rather than a healthy one with Zhang Zhe so whatever I guess 🤷♂️🤷♂️
