I think this show would've translated way better as a thriller comedy. Sometimes it takes itself way too seriously for what it actually is, but the story, writing, acting are just not strong enough for that so it ends up being a little silly and cringy tbh, but when they lean more into comedy (for example Nont & Zouey "torturing" the receptionist) it's actually funny and they can pull it off, the friend group dynamic would work great in a comedy

And let's not forget to make a big scene so that everybody sees and knows we're there

Yes, it definitely is, resemblance attraction is a thing, a person could be attracted to another only because they look like someone they loved and lost, no real connection, just their appearance, usually trying to recreate the experience or fill the void.
And tbh, the way the show is framing Him's character and behavior he definitely fits the state of someone who can possibly develop resemblance attraction.
