He said it out of anger. Plus, he definitely sensed Kuea was hiding a big part of him from Lian. Guess he was…
So he hid the music? So he hid the racing and the motorcycle and having his own house and college major? So what? That's all just hiding, like I said. And it doesn't equal a fake persona, it equals someone who doesn't trust Lian.
Lian hasn't given Kuea any reason to trust. And that's why Kuea covers up who he is and hides it away. That's pretty clear, I think. He doesn't trust very many people to let Kuea be who he wants to be so he hides that part of himself away where people who might disapprove can't see it.
You're blaming Kuea here for lying, but Lian is too. In fact, not only is he lying, he's twisting the situation up. He could just say "hey, I know who you are. Can we talk about why you're afraid to tell me about yourself?" Instead he said "No, I don't love you". And that's not Kuea's fault. Lian is responsible for his words and actions no matter what Kuea is doing. Just because someone is hiding the truth doesn't mean you have a right to be cruel to them.
If Lian had just said "yes, I love you", which was the truth, and then "Even the part of your life you aren't sharing with me yet", then we'd all be cheering. Instead, this is all messy and weird and uncomfortable because Lian is an even bigger liar than Kuea but he's acting like he has a right to the truth.
I think the show's writing was very weak. You can have someone be mean or cruel and then gradually have them get better with time without all these contradictory moments that never seem to get fully explored.

I'm lost on the whole fake persona thing. Hiding what you're doing from someone doesn't equal a fake persona.
And if you mean Kirin, that's just a stage name. Lots of people have those. I don't think hiding his stage presence or his other behaviors from Lian deserves being told "I don't love you". That scene made it hard to reconcile them having a relationship, right out of the gate.
You just don't tell someone "I don't love you" because they're hiding their fun activities from you.
Can somone explain why the sudden "hate" towards the series from people... did I miss something? o.óI mean if…
I don't think people have to explain why they hate a show anymore than they have to explain why they love it. They just do. And that's okay.
I like that some of the people come on here every week to share their opinion on the episode. Both the ones that like the show and the ones that don't like it. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it's thoughtful. Sometimes it's very detailed. And sometimes it's just one sentence. All the opinions on the show are welcome, every week. No matter what those opinions are.
I like the show, but I will admit that it's very problematic (I've seen worse but I digress). Lian's behavior…
Yes block them if you can't resist the urge to read their posts.
I haven't found any of the people who don't like the show having an opinion I find upsetting. It may have more to do with the fact that I don't feel the need to defend TV dramas. They aren't people with feelings so if someone comes on and says they hate a drama, it's perfectly fine with me.
But if you get upset when someone hates on a show you like, just don't read their posts. Or block them so you aren't tempted to read them.
I have read pretty far down today, since I am new here but I probably won't make it through all the comments ever made.
I see a fair bit of people trying to push others out of the community for disliking the show, with posts like "just drop it if you don't like it," and other people pushing back against that.
But even though I would not post every week on a show I did not like, I certainly don't mind if someone else does so. Reviews and criticisms are welcome. Some people probably feel they're being thorough. But even if that isn't the reason they post every week, it doesn't matter why. It's okay to watch the show, really dislike the show, and then share how you feel every week. No one has to understand for it to be welcome here.
I don't understand why if people don't like the posts that criticize the show or the users who do it, why they don't block the users with opinions they don't like. That would be a lot better than sitting around and complaining that they exist, wouldn't it? I think that was all I wanted to say.
