I honestly saw alot of connections. First thing the yihe and nanwu university plot. In HL sang yan was angry at zhi for enrolling in yihe university and the reason we found out in FF. Also his bubbly personality is still there but only with his close ones. The bar is also there and i do remember him being completely drunk on his graduation day in HL. So yes there are a lot of connections but yes one might question about this because his story was not highlighted in HL. It poses everything in such a perfect way, a few episodes and I'm already so satisfied. There's flirting but not too obvious, and no cliche and cheesy scenes. Everything is perfectly balanced.
