Yes, I think the writer (didn’t she also say so?) and also the fans loved XL the most. For the drama I feel that’s mainly because of TJC‘s brilliant performance. I just cannot see XL having the same impact in the drama version if a different actor had played him. At the same time XL gave TJC this opportunity to do something special.

Agree, I think he wouldn’t play a black and white villain role, and honestly I wouldn’t want to see him in a black and white villain role either. A complex grey character any time!
