I’m happy for the cast and crew for Buried Hearts, but I’m surprised the ratings kept climbing. This show had the opposite effect for me: the more it went on, the less interest I had.
The high points were very early on: the reveal that Eunnam is the Chairman’s granddaughter, and when Huh Ildo shot Dongju. The low point was a tie between Dongju surviving the gunshots and the incest plot. Too many things that occurred in this show were unrealistic, and the only reason I continued watching was because of Park Hyung Sik and Kim Jung-Nam (the latter who was not used enough).
Oh… that… but people say a lot of stuff online. I wouldn’t let those folks get to you. People who comment here do not know Kim Soo Hyun or Kim Sae Ron. They are not attorneys in South Korea representing high profile clients. They aren’t law enforcement or actors in that industry. They do not have real life experience at all, and most users probably don’t live in South Korea.
It’s all opinions in the end. And nothing we say will matter… or did matter because Sae Ron is dead.
I think you’re missing my overall point, and that’s fine for you to agree to disagree since nothing that happens to Kim Soo Hyun impacts us directly.
Kim Soo Hyun should have never dated an employee of an agency that he sells as his company. He never should have dated an underage girl. And now he’s facing the consequences of both of these mistakes, as he should.
That’s the thing, though. She wasn’t solely his employee. Not only was she under age when they dated, they dated. And then she messed up with the DUI, which obviously impacts him since he’s a prominent figure. His company needed to make her an exception to the rule and cancel the loan for the sake of Soo Hyun’s reputation because acting like she didn’t matter led him down this path they’re in.
The situation with Blake and Ryan is different. No one committed suicide and Hugh Jackman isn’t actually friends with these people. Distancing himself from them makes a lot of sense if that’s what he chooses to do. Also, Jackman isn’t the face Blake and Ryan’s company. Soo hyun has been touting Gold Medalist as his company.
He said during the conference he felt responsible for the cast and crew on QoTs. He should have applied that consideration to Sae Ron until the situation was handled properly.
IU is one of the best actresses in the industry. She carried this show on her back. Loved Moon Soo-Ri and Park Hae-Joon. I also want to give major props to Jang Hye-jin because she always chooses quality projects.
The show, though, didn’t particularly hit until the later episodes. I found the family’s story very common. I would have liked a bit more specificity.
That said, the finale was incredible. One of the best I’ve seen, and I can’t wait to see what IU does next. Fantastic actress.
I’m talking about as a public figure who also owns a successful agency, everything is your reputation.
She was his employee and had a DUI. It was more than just her being his ex but that would play a major part in my decision to properly handle a scandal. I would want to ensure my image is squeaky clean and absorbing the cost for her DUI would do just that.
Then after some time had passed, I would let her go or ask her to resign. It’s not really about being kind and more about how the public perceives you. Because now everyone (aside from his fans) think he’s scum.
That damage control consultant must be fired. Absolute trash.ETA: He should have not involved her family in his…
Yes, legally, he didn’t do anything wrong because they broke up, and she owed him money. The problem really was the optics: that he demanded repayment on the loan while she was broke and he was making bank for QoT. It was a move a heartless person would make. He did not need that money from her.
And the fallout, constantly lying about their relationship after her death and prioritizing his own interests… he and his team kept making one heartless decision after another.
The way MDL is actively downplaying all of Kim Soo Hyun’s articles by pushing them down the featured page between articles that are several days old is a sight to behold.
Does this occur for all kdrama actors embroiled in scandals?
Legally, he did not commit any crimes. It was still legal for him to date this girl.Legally, Sae Ron owed him…
If her family wanted to go through with charging Soo Hyun with all of these crimes, they would have. But they didn’t. And it is up to them, not a bunch of us who aren’t Sae Ron’s family.
While I will take your word for it, that TECHNICALLY, Soo Hyun may be charged, REALISTICALLY the process of prosecuting him for all of this would be too difficult for her family. And they likely do not have the means.
It’d be one thing if this was a man who dated a 15 year old before the law changed the legal age, and because…
I’m bored, too. And I have time today. Otherwise, I never post about any of these people who don’t mean anything to me and me to them at the end of the day.
Anyway, if you want to come at this as a devil’s advocate, fine. It just doesn’t make sense.

Yes, this actually makes sense and is proving my point. They want to put this behind them and need closure. Charging him for crimes would uproot too much of Kim Sae Ron and their personal lives; so folks saying they could be lying doesn’t add up, especially when all of these cases are very expensive.
The family is being more than reasonable and he is not.

Thank you for the correction. The family is suing the youtuber for invasion of privacy, I assume? And he still has the nerve to sue her family. The gall.

I suppose none of these companies want to be sued by him. He’s suing poor people for 12 billion won. Of course he would retaliate against the media.

The question is as old as time. It’s easier to blame victims, even when all the reasonable doubt is proving the perpetrator is guilty.
