From the poster, I thought the drama was going to be really meh, but in the end it was a pleasant watch. I didn't believe in their chemistry, but their chemistry was really good. I might have liked it if she'd explained to him that his behavior had hurt her and he'd felt more guilty about what she had to endure, but overall, even if it was clichéd, it was an easy-to-watch modern C-drama. Special mention to the book The Alchemist—for once, I got the reference! hh
First minutes in, it’s shockingly different from what I ever seen in romance tagged drama, and it seems that it s gonna be an incredibly realistic and good drama, not good as fireflies and that also is very good, but good as a story about life and hardships and the beauty of overcoming and becoming strong. and 18 episodes let s go
In which episode the story is back to the present, it’s frustrating seeing the first episode then being back to the past, don’t want ut to drag too much, even if we need to understand the background
The Linan era was Amazing, comedy, romance, perfect, almost never fastforwarded, the second part of the drama has its good episodes but they need to let other characters take screen time, I totally understand, but unless they’re consoler and royal princess, i m not interested hh, this part in the capitale is good but not as much as the first, Anyway, loved the idea of the very very few last minutes very original but would have loved to see them meeting and developing the relation. For me it’s a 9.75 drama but mdl doesn’t give that as a note so a 10 it will be. Xie Xie little drama the cinematography, the chemistry, the ost, and little Changning, gonna miss it
It got really surprising out of nowhere with the it’s your cat so it’s you, I thought we were going to finish those lies once for all, with the ml of course, but no, she keeps bringing new lies, why, whyyyy ming yiii, yes it’s very frustrating, since the chemistry is really good and we get attached to the characters, seeing one being lied to is not really enjoyable
I watched Playful Kiss and Itazura na Kiss back in the day, and the main difference lies in the male lead. Here, he may be reserved and doesn’t openly express his feelings, but he does have them, and he shows them through his actions, through small details. He is never disrespectful; he’s simply introverted, unlike male leads in other dramas who spend a large part of the story being very cold (Itazura na Kiss actually handles this better than the Korean adaptation in that regard). With Zai Zai, I would have liked a bit more restraint at the beginning, but she still has far more self-control than Oh Ha Ni or Kotoko. So When I Fly Towards You leans much more toward a healthy relationship. I’m only at episode 9, haha, but it’s not toxic and I like it.
By the way, I liked the other two but had some complaints.
If this would have been a kdrama at the early 2010’s, ml would have been sml et sml ml, glad that dramas are now "allowing" the good non toxic guy to win in the end, so refreshing, healthy and heart conforting realtionship, love those ones
