Ai Mei was the first song in mandarin that I memorised. I also LOVE Zero from Mars. It was my first Taiwanese drama so I have a special relation with it.

But that is exactly my point: she fled because she knew he was a threat to her and to her child. And as you said, a victim of stockholm syndrome wouldn't see him as a threat...

I don't know that much about it, but at least Freudian theory of Stockholm syndrome suggests that the bonding is the individual's response to trauma in becoming a victim. Well the girl was in love with him before they got married even knowing that he had killed her father! She became a victim of abuse after the marriage because he didn't want to fall in love with her. But she always loved him before, during and after that. I don't believe that that applies to stockholm syndrome...
But well, maybe I'm wrong. :)
