My stupid self only noticed this yesterday. But at the start of each episode Hijiri is reading out Kuroiwa's diary. The title of the show translates to Junior High School Diary. When they parted Kuroiwa gave her his diary. It really gives a glimpse to what Kuroiwa's thought and emotions at the time were. It also made me look at Kuroiwa in a different way and I rewatched both episodes again lol
