Came for Gao and Shen? This Drama Will Disappoint You

I’m honestly really disappointed with this drama.

I first found it through a YouTube clip of Gao and Shen, and their scene looked so interesting that I immediately searched for the drama and started watching it. Later I realized they were only the second couple, not the main leads. That was a bit disappointing, but I still decided to watch because I thought both couples would get good screen time.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case at all.

I couldn’t really get interested in the main couple and story line too, but I kept watching because of Gao and S. They were the only reason I continued the drama. But the biggest problem is that they barely gave them any screen time. Their story felt rushed and underdeveloped, which was really frustrating.

What made it even worse was the ending. I at least expected a happy ending for them after everything. Instead, the story completely ruined their characters and their relationship. It felt unfair and honestly pointless after making viewers care about them.

Because of that, this drama ended up being a huge disappointment for me. I watched it mainly for Gao and Shen, but they deserved so much better than what the writers gave them.

I especially wouldn’t recommend this drama to people who started it after watching YouTube clips of Gao and Shen, because those clips make it seem like they have a bigger and better story than they actually do.

Just finished watching this drama and honestly… I don’t know what I just watched.

The drama actually has a good basic storyline, which makes it even more disappointing. The problem is how the story is executed. The plot feels repetitive, with the same situations happening again and again without real progress. Instead of building tension or developing the characters, it just keeps circling around the same ideas.

Another issue is the character behavior. Many scenes feel unrealistic, almost childish. For example, characters are in serious gun situations, but the way they react and the way the scenes play out feels awkward and poorly planned. It ends up looking more like a random sequence of events rather than a well-directed action scene.

Because of that, the drama loses its impact. What could have been an intense or emotional story ends up feeling messy and frustrating to watch.

Overall, the concept had potential, but the storytelling and scene execution really let it down. Sadly, it felt like a waste of time.

Best for mind relaxing

First of all, I have to say that I really liked this drama. I actually loved it because it’s very relaxing to watch. One special thing about this drama is the actors—almost all of them are pleasant to look at. Many are beautiful, cute, hot, or charming, so there are a lot of visually appealing characters. 😻

The drama also gives an old-school school drama feeling. Nowadays, many dramas don’t capture that emotional school-life atmosphere like older ones did. This drama reminded me of those kinds of stories. When the characters left school, I actually felt a little sad because it reminded me of my own school life.🥺

This drama focuses on love, friendship, and life, and I especially loved the relationships, particularly both couples. The way their love develops step by step is beautiful. Their romance feels natural, and they are really cute together. ❤️ But as for friendships, I didn’t feel a strong or meaningful connection between the characters. Yes, they are friends and spend time together, but the emotional depth of their friendship didn’t come across strongly. Maybe it’s because I’ve watched other dramas where friendships felt very real and touching. Compared to those, the friendships here felt a little weak. Still, this isn’t a big problem for the drama overall.

Another thing I didn’t like was one of the conflicts involving the second couple. The boy couldn’t contact Juan, and suddenly the story jumps forward two years. That felt strange and unnecessary. It would have been better if it was only one month or a shorter period, because two years is too long for that situation. Also, Ling Chao bought the apartment two years earlier, and even after those two years passed, their relationship didn’t seem to develop much. When she comes to stay, she doesn’t even stay one night with him, even though two years have passed. It feels like the drama wanted to show that a lot of time had passed, but many things still stayed the same. For example, when the second couple breaks up, the story suddenly jumps two years ahead, but in other parts, it still feels like no real time has passed. Because of that, the time skip feels inconsistent.

Talking about the characters, all the actors and actresses did their best. The main leads are really cute—when Ling Chao smiles, it feels adorable 🥹.

As for Zi Han, he has a very cool vibe. He’s a chill guy, and his scenes are funny, so I really enjoyed watching him. He should have become a more famous celebrity—why didn’t they give him more focus? I feel disappointed about that.

The character I liked the most after the main lead is Ling Long’s cousin Ye Jun… actually, not the character—I think I just like the actor! 😁 When he smiles, it really melts my heart. He has a very cool and relaxed vibe, and I really liked him.

Overall, this drama is enjoyable, relaxing, and has a nostalgic school-life feeling. If you like light romance, school memories, and cool characters, this drama is worth watching.

In this drama, I mainly see two different friends getting caught in a situation involving a money-hungry, feminine boy. That feels like the core conflict of the story. Personally, I’m not blaming Koh for what happens. For me, the worst person in this drama is Jira. I feel like he is playing with the feelings of both boys, and he’s actually very good at manipulating people’s emotions.
Even though Koh comes off as rude and emotionally distant, he is actually the most sensitive person in the entire drama.🥹 And yes, I am sad for Pheem too 🥺 I really felt bad for him. He’s such an innocent guy—honestly, truly innocent. A big part of this drama revolves around emotions and art, which gives it some depth.
One of the funniest parts is when Jira paints on a shirt using wine and calls it “art,” a so-called wine-stain shirt. Honestly, if anyone else did that, it would just look like a mess. But when a boyfriend does it, suddenly it’s art. I guess love really is blind.
Overall, this is not a boring drama. It has a storyline that keeps you watching continuously. The actors are also very talented—they express emotions incredibly well, especially through their eyes and facial expressions. However, I do get irritated when Koh is always wearing sunglasses because I can’t read his eyes properly. Other than that, the drama is decent

Most innocent and insane mafia boss ever

I watched this drama mainly because I really like the two lead actors, especially the male lead. He usually plays serious characters in other dramas, so seeing him in such a goofy, unserious role was refreshing and honestly very funny. His performance was the biggest highlight for me, and I laughed a lot because of him. Acting-wise, both leads did a good job, and that’s what kept me watching.

That said, the drama itself didn’t feel special. Even though the male lead is supposed to be a mafia boss, it never truly felt like a mafia story. He’s probably the most innocent and insane “mafia boss” I’ve ever seen, which was funny—but it also made the whole mafia angle feel fake. Compared to other mafia dramas, like King’s Porch and another one whose name I can’t quite remember, this one lacked suspense, surprises, and intense moments. In those dramas, you’re constantly curious about what will happen next, with unexpected twists, fights, and strong tension mixed with romance. This drama didn’t give that feeling at all.

Instead, it focused mostly on love, with a very watered-down, pretend version of the mafia world. Because of that, I couldn’t fully take the story seriously. I started watching it continuously at first, thinking something bigger would happen later, but once I realized nothing much was changing, I began watching slowly and skipping days. It actually took me about a month to finish the drama.

Overall, I can’t give this drama a high rating. I’ll give it a few extra stars purely for the acting and the male lead’s entertaining performance. If you’re looking for a real mafia drama, this isn’t it. But if you enjoy light romance with a funny, unconventional male lead, it’s still watchable—just don’t expect too much depth or excitement.

Not scarry

This drama is divided into three stories, and each one gave me a very different feeling.

First Story – Fake Couple

The first story, about the fake couple, honestly felt too much and unfair to me. The idea that the princess kills the person who prayed to her as part of a fake couple was already okay, but what I really didn’t like was how their friends were killed for no reason. Those friends didn’t do anything wrong. They didn’t pray, they didn’t go to the “princess,” so why did they have to die? That felt completely unethical.

Another problem is how the story just ends after the girl is killed. There is no proper closure. Older people and others clearly saw what happened, but the drama doesn’t show the university finding out the truth or any consequences afterward. That made the ending feel incomplete and unsatisfying. Even though I didn’t like the story, I must say the actors did a good job.

Second Story – Hazing

The second storyline, which is about hazing, is kind of okay. However, I don’t understand why horror dramas always have to be so dark—literally. Everything is shown in deep darkness. Even when the characters are in a university, they walk around using their phones as lights. Why are there no proper lights in the university? It honestly feels like the production tried to save money, and that affected the quality.

Also, I don’t think this story truly ended. I feel like Sun might still be possessed. He hummed the ghost’s song, and in the morning scene, his eyes looked red. That detail made me think the ghost was still inside him, or at least that the ending was left open on purpose.

Third Story – Comedy

The third story is my favorite. I laughed a lot while watching it. It has a proper storyline, good comedy, and well-balanced scenes. Everything worked well together, and the actors did their best. Compared to the first two stories, this one was much more enjoyable and entertaining.

Overall

Out of the three stories, I liked the third one the most. The first one disappointed me, the second one was just okay, but the third one was fun, light, and engaging. Overall, the drama is not boring, and you can enjoy watching it—especially for the third story

Just normal BL love story

This drama doesn’t have a unique or different storyline. It follows a very normal BL romance. I liked it, but I wouldn’t say it’s very good — it’s just okay.

In terms of acting, the two female characters are more talented than the male leads. They express emotions really well and have strong screen presence. From some angles, Junshi even looks a bit like BTS V — did anyone else notice that?

Overall, the drama is watchable. It’s mainly about romance, without much of a strong or complex storyline. If you’re looking for something simple and romance-focused, you can give it a try.

This special episode is titled “Where We Don’t Know Each Other,” but honestly, it doesn’t feel very special.

Before criticizing the writing, I have to acknowledge one thing clearly—the acting is excellent. These two actors are genuinely cool. When the world changes, their characters also change completely. While watching the drama, it never feels like the same person playing both versions. The Rude p cir version and the original version feel like two entirely different characters, even though they are acted by the same person. The same applies to Phu the timid Phu is nothing like the active Phu. Their timing, expressions, and body language are so different that we truly feel they are different people. For their performance alone, I can easily give 10/10 for acting.

The only truly interesting change in this episode is the role reversal. In the original world, P Cir is always the one stalking Phu. But in this alternate world, the situation is flipped P Cir becomes the one being stalked. That concept had a lot of potential, especially with Phu being shy, timid, passive, and almost painfully awkward in this world.

However, the episode fails to focus on what actually makes it unique. Instead of developing the dynamic between P Cir and this timid version of Phu, the story rushes and the end, the episode suddenly shifts back toward the real-world pairing, with P Cir and Phu making out—something we already know happens in the main storyline.

That’s where the episode completely loses its point.

If this was meant to be a special episode, it should have stayed in that alternate world and explored the journey, the tension, and the emotional buildup between P Cir and shy Phu. Showing how their relationship develops differently in this world would have made the episode meaningful. Instead, it feels like the writers used an interesting concept and then abandoned it halfway.

In the end, the idea was fresh, but the execution was messy. The episode had potential, and the actors delivered, but the writing didn’t do justice to either the concept or their performances.

I dont know what i feel ?

I decided to watch The Boy Next World mainly because I loved the plot description and the actors. At first, the story promised a parallel world concept, which immediately caught my attention because it felt fresh and unique. The idea of two worlds existing side by side, slowly revealing themselves, was intriguing. When the drama showed two versions of reality and intentionally confused the audience, I actually enjoyed that confusion—it made the story feel mysterious and exciting.

However, the drama later revealed that it was not really about a parallel world, but instead about obsession and stalking, where one character does everything because of his love. At that point, the storyline felt much more ordinary, and I slowly lost interest. The shift from a sci-fi concept to a psychological explanation felt disappointing, as if the drama took away the very element that made it special in the first place.

What made things more frustrating was the lack of clear explanations by the end. After cir’s accident, his head mark disappears and then reappears, which raises many unanswered questions. If he truly lost his memory, how did his scar changed? And if he was lying, why could the boy who hears people’s thoughts not detect it? These details make the audience wonder whether there was a parallel world after all. Additionally, the cir from the so-called parallel world mentioning that “these two must be together in this world” strongly suggests that different worlds existed where they were separated before. Because of this, the final explanation feels incomplete and contradictory.

Overall, The Boy Next World started with a strong and unique concept but ended with too much confusion and unresolved symbolism. The drama had great potential, but the unclear ending and sudden shift in theme made it feel unsatisfying. Instead of giving closure, it left viewers questioning what was real and what was not—until the very last scene.

Isn’t excellent, but it’s not boring either

Actually, at first, I didn’t want to watch this drama because I had seen the first season and wasn’t interested. But I ended up loving this couple more than the main couple from the first season. When I saw that the new season was coming out, I wasn’t interested at first, but then I thought, “I’ll give it a try.”

At first, I didn’t really fall for it, but then Hia Win’s smile totally caught me. I started watching the whole drama because of Hia Win, and later I actually grew to like Win’s little brother too—he’s so cute and really talented.

It’s just a normal drama, but I think it’s way better than the first season. The other couples are okay too, though I think some of them need to improve their expressions, especially Hia Win’s boyfriend. Sometimes his facial expressions are all the same. I don’t really like that actor, but because of Win, it doesn’t matter much.

I must say, Win’s character is very different from most rich main leads. He’s kind, cool, cute, and has a lot of good qualities. The writer actually did a great job building his character—I love it.

So overall, this drama isn’t excellent, but it’s not boring either.

Have good plot but writer messed it

I don’t know why this drama is such a mess. When he talks about childhood, Mild doesn’t even show a caring look. And when Mudd said he was raped, he didn’t even seem to know about it—but he believed it anyway. If he was really raped, shouldn’t he know? He wasn’t drunk or anything. What a joke! It feels like the writer just wanted to add drama for no reason and ended up writing a childish story.

I’m sure the main lead couple is Kan and Per because their story is more focused and well-developed, unlike Knight and Mild. Honestly, I want to see more scenes of the third couple—they give real butterfly feelings!

The acting is bad, especially Mild’s—he completely fails to deliver emotions. Kan does a good job, and Per is okay. Tum is also good. As for the girls, there’s nothing much to say; only Grace is a bit okay. Actually, Knight is kind of a good actor—he did well in Love Syndrome—but here, he’s acting like a beginner.

Simple and lovly story.. u should try it than depend on riviews..

Actually, this drama is good! I don’t know why it has so many bad reviews. There are a lot of boring dramas with nothing special, yet they get great reviews. So I must say — don’t depend too much on reviews. I’ve made that mistake before; I dropped some dramas because of bad reviews — especially TharnType. Many fans said negative things about it, so I thought it would be horrible. But when I finally decided to try it, it became one of my favorites!

The storyline isn’t new — it’s the same old theme — but I still love it. It’s just a relaxing, simple, lovely drama. The acting is also good — not perfect, but definitely not bad. So I think you should at least try watching one or two episodes and then decide for yourself.

Not hve a good story line or acting, dont waste your time

First of all, the lead actor Rak really needs to either go to a good acting class or just stop acting altogether. He’s terrible. Dino is actually a good actor, but Rak’s poor performance drags him down, so I can’t give more stars for acting because of that.

And what on earth is that storyline? Is the writer Rak’s father or something? Did he really write such an idiotic drama just to make Rak the main lead? 🙄 Eww. Also, what’s the point of Charlam’s character? Worst story ever. I think even the writer doesn’t know what they’re writing or what the storyline is supposed to be.

And Rak has zero facial expressions — there’s nothing there that makes me feel anything. He’s the first actor who has failed this badly on my list.

As for Dino, I’d love to see him in another drama with a good supporting cast and a better writer. I must also say that Suea and Kharam are great actors too! ❤️❤️

I think it has a good plot, and it’s similar to the Japanese Wolf Game. The beginning is confusing and the trailer makes it look thrilling. But as the episodes go on, especially near the end, the thriller feeling is lost. From the first episode, I could already guess who the main mafia was. And when the third mafia died, I could easily figure out the last one too.

The ending ruined it for me. The reveal that it was actually a game created by Se-eun’s parents felt disappointing. Even if there is a second season, we already know they won’t actually die, so it won’t have the same intensity. It won’t become a masterpiece that way.

Also, compared to the Japanese Wolf Game, this one is less thrilling. The Japanese version has a more tightly constructed plot. I still liked this drama and watched it all in one go. But near the end, everything felt messy, and the last episode was especially bad. Something just felt off. I can’t exactly explain it. At first I enjoyed it a lot, but as the episodes continued, my feelings became mixed. You can watch it without getting bored, but afterwards you’re left thinking: What was the point? What did I just watch?

The acting was good, but I feel like the main actors weren’t strong enough. The villain characters were more impactful. Whenever the main two actors tried to do something, it always went wrong.

somthing is missing

Beautiful storyline with lite storyline.. they have best chemestry. Some things are missing in this drama i really can not point out it. But i fell somthing is off.. i think tht is the reason for this is under rated.. but actully both male leads chemestry was real best and they made us feel.. but the way story written somthing is missing... i mean the way story build up is kind of fail.. and the way they confess also boring. And thire chemestry gone down little vit after that... it would be intresting if they add more romance and cute parts without suddenly dead of grandmother etc et. I mean itz not good timing. And i dont like that flight missing part too actually it is unessosry becoz this is mini drama.. it would be ok if this has more episodes.. i want more romance dude 😣
