Right. Yang Mi and Xu Kai barely had any screen time together, especially in the last 10-15 episodes. How is the audience supposed to feel the chemistry if the main leads barely interact together? A lot of time was given to unnecessary characters like her brother and bff.

I would still watch it. Only the last 4 episodes were badly written, the rest were really good.

There are negative but also positive things about his character like all characters of this drama. The reason I ship him with Qin Shi is not that deep though, I just like their chemistry.
