Personally I love Joseph and BL but this script is not even close to my top 10 drama for 2025, I love TPOB, FOF, The Glory, Zhang Hai, MM, Flourished Peony. I have BL other dramas saved to rewatch till next year. FL is very smart and okay, but please casting director take note of actors that put this type of clause of no kissing on their contract, it's a no no, because this is a "ROMANCE" genre. Am telling you, I just finished it, my only sorrow is Wei Liang that died, I watched the fighting scene of WS and Bi zhi , the two can hold their ground but I felt Wei Shao did not fight his best because of the situation on ground (Afan being held hostage and Bi zhi been family too). The brutal Wei Shao at the beginning of the series was brutal, strong and a beast and I think HE wouldn't have been defeated by Bi zhi easily. I enjoyed the drama but my tears came down because it's WL out of the four general that died

Am great with the ending, only sad that WL died, qiao fan don't really care about her any more, she is as selfish as her dad, I only pitied her mother and husband whom she left behind with nothing. The writer and director decided to follow the novel opening dream Manman had of Afan killing herself as Wei Shao unhappy bride and how Bi zhi was coming to mourn her where Wei Shao buried her outside the family ancestral tomb. Bi zhi became alone and Xiaotao too😭😭. The Main couple is safe so am happy. LY and Yuluo deserved their Ending too

Did not like? 😳. You should understand this is not 21st century story line, by that time and era trust me a lot worse first reaction was acceptable and normal. He has warned Wei Yan before and his cousin said he was only joking 😃. The maid had malicious intent so the choking was to threaten her into keeping quiet and am a woman but I like the choking because it put her in her place. All in all those are first reaction to something sacred (marriage is a sacred institution)
