They were severely weakened by a disease sent to them, so I think it's actually a very realistic way of killing off stronger warriors.

I reckon the whole angel thing revolves around human's who have died or are in coma, so he's probably committed suicide in the past and become a demon or fallen angel and wishes to reunite with what looks like his dead wife, who also looks like Lee Yeon Seo

I reckon the director is actually a demon of some sort, I think it'd make an interesting twist. He seems directed at making her fall in love with him, which could ultimately lead to breaking her heart beyond the point of repair. When he chose a cake, he went for the over chocolate indulged one which can be seen as a Devil's Food cake. Giselle is a ballet where the lead is eventually driven insane. Like maybe it's a fight between good and evil over her, I dunno, but I think that'd just add another element, not that they haven't already got a great plot.

I think something interesting is the director, I'd love to see instead of being the typical 'human love' trope, for him to be like the demon who's trying to make her fall in love with him just so he can break her heart and totally damn her. Now that'd be cool.
