I definitely think that it’s not a traditional adoption. it’s sounds like the mil just abandoned or gave away Dalgi. It’s possible that bongnim was found abandoned and her parents probably “adopted” her because they thought they couldn’t have a kid. There wouldn’t be any paperwork so it kinda plays into the fact that grandma has tried so hard to find her but couldn’t. this also kinda supports the theory of the uncle being born later accidently because of the huge age gap.

Also it sounds like bongnim’s family probably was poor and the parents could’ve found her and just decided to keep her. this also is kind of supported by the fact that she didn’t know how to read or write. I’m kind of theorizing that the parents were prob older and tried to have kids but couldn’t and then decided to take in bongnim. uncle then would’ve been a miracle baby where they were really old and maybe that’s why they’re not in the plot bc they’ve passed already. There hasn’t been any mention of grandparents in YD family so it’s possible they passed before YD was born. maybe bongnim raised the uncle for majority of his life because they passed so early

same like I do think he’s away more redeemable than SJ. But I can’t forget all the hurt he gave YD. First of all he’s a cheating scumbag plus he was caught…while trying to flipping propose to SJ! Then he goes and demands she get an abortion when he finds out she’s pregnant. lastly he worked with that witch and is partially responsible for YD almost miscarrying. I definitely see them giving him redemption but I won’t be forgiving him. He’s a basic fuckboi. Its so obvious he only now acknowledges that the baby is his and wants to take responsibility because he feels TK took what was “his”. literally him being delulu with SJ when he said something like “he took what was mine. No one takes what’s mine” that just shows he’s a bag of poo, he doesn’t actually care about the baby and YD. like YD said before he’s only like that because his ego is hurt.

yea that theory makes sense if there parents thought they could’ve have kids and adopted her and then later came uncle. I was wondering about the dad too. they have his last name so he must of been there before, im suspecting he abandoned them. if he passed, I feel like we would’ve seen something by now like a memorial photo.

According to KBS he’s 16 years younger than his sister. like it’s possible that they’re biologically related, but that really big age gap. Also I just checked and the eldest brother is only 4 years younger than uncle!!! like what, I thought the uncle was a lot older.

sadly I think she will get one. Because I think YD and SJ will become stepsisters so that kinda ties them together. But YD could always cut off contact. I think they’ll do some crazy drama logic and give SJ a redemption arc

YD’s mom is 59yo apparently so it’s possible that Patrick was 5-6yo and doesn’t remember having a sister.

I can see both sides honestly tho. even though I do agree she should’ve done more as his mom, but I also have some sympathy for her. She was also oppressed in the family by the grandma and her two oldest stepchildren. she also is constantly doing housework for all of them.

You can also argue that she didn’t have to join the family, but I think Inok thought she was doing what was best for TK. Even though he was older, I think she finally did find someone she wants to marry and thought by doing so she could give TK a family that they never had. however that definitely backfired. Also being a single mom is hard and maybe she wanted TK to have a successful adult life with a nice family background. especially when you think about the Korean society and how single moms are treated. I was raised by a single mom and even though my mom was strong enough to raise me and my brother alone. I definitely can see in parts of my childhood where my mom struggled and where having a partner would’ve helped a lot. Despite all of that said, I do agree she needs to acknowledge it and hopefully that can help TK heal too.

I see this shows comment section as a positive place to discuss the show, people who bring negativity like that are not welcomed. They’re definitely acting like a crazy 13yo troll. They’re very much giving SJ obsessed vibes with how much they’re commenting on a drama they claim to not even like. it’s best to just ignore people like them.

I agree with you, shows that make you feel more than just Joy are masterpieces. when a show or any film makes you feel all kind of emotions, you know it’s good because that’s what they wanted. and even just feeling those emotions shows how talented the actors and writers are to make you feel those emotions through a screen. also isn’t it a tad boring only feeling one emotion the whole show?

I agree with you sooooo much!! you don’t even understand. like I see everyone freaking out about her and although it’s really sad to see her be so mean, I do understand her and I don’t think it’ll last long. I’m especially more understanding of her than Patrick because of the fact she was so close to YD. Like she genuinely believed in the in law relationship they had. she even was so accepting at first with an unplanned pregnancy and even fought against grandma for them. I think she’s just truely hurting from the betrayal rn but will cool down. I feel like everyone acted like she’d be thrilled to hear the baby isn’t TK’s, but it’s not easy to react happy to that news. most parents would be upset if their child lied like that and would probably throw a tantrum too. although inok’s preview seems very monster mil, it is a drama and they exaggerate these scenes a lot. the writers definitely like to play with our emotions which is why the previews are so filled with those shocking scenes, but I’m sure they’re just showing inok’s hurt rn and she’ll accept soon bc she loves her son sm.
