Yeah u wd feel quiet confused but when i watched "paradise kiss" with a friend of mine that have no idea about the anime and never watched it; she was enjoying it while i wasn't quiet satisfied how they made the story so i guess sometimes there are exeptions.

Maybe bcz u love or watch animes more than dramas

No Itazura na kiss isn't the same story as HYD not even close but they're both my fav love stories, if u already watched playful kiss (the korean version) or it started with a kiss (taiwanese version) that wd be the story but the jap version wasn't that great.
