are you ? why commenting this under my post ? If you don’t like the drama just don’t watch it ?
Decades in entertainment but only 3 or 4 mediocre acting awards? No good. Not even included in the top 200 actors by Koreafilm -- the list of real and legit respected Korean actors. Has attracted old hag fans as immature as his character in the drama.
I have seen these comments now about idols. I don't really follow them, but I assume the ml of the young couple…
Got you. I think there is not much sense in taking the comments here too seriously. I don't think they even matter at all anyway. People watch the show with prejudice, whether we accept it or not. And there are also people who become so unreasonable in their criticism. As for me, I prefer numbers and facts in supporting what I think is a constructive criticism. I wanted to support my favorites so I watched this but it has become a bit not worth it for me. Anyway, have fun with the show.

Being no. 1 in anything wasn't my point. I have never ever mentioned something like that. I was simply laying down the ratings as proof that this drama is not able to retain the audience it achieved in its first couple of episodes which means that viewers are not happy with how events are unfolding in the drama which I think is due to the bad script and directing.
Everyone has their own reason for watching the show. Some, including me, are watching it for their favorite idols/actors. Some just simply came across it and got curious. I never claimed everyone had the same intention as mine. But I am going to still assert that the popular idols were cast to attract younger viewers at the very least in Korea. In fact, it's their videos and pictures that are all over youtube and other platforms, instead of the older couple, to promote the show. I think the reason for that is the very assertion I made -- they can attract viewers; maybe not in your case, but I was talking in a general perspective.
Kdrama fandom is one of the most toxic fandom I’ve ever come across. I don’t understand why people have to…
Finally, somebody said it! I don't think it is one of the most toxic, it is the MOST toxic. I don't get it as well; some fans may just be really obsessed. But they can hate all they want; it's pretty evident that their rants don't matter a bit at all. The quality of the show speaks the most.

Everyone has opinions and own preferences. But if we rely on facts, this drama is not doing well so far. First, its viewership on Netflix and JTBC (South Korean broadcasting) are going down quite significantly. Second, its ratings on polling sites or show databases (or whatever you call it, I don't know the exact categorization for them) are pretty low, both from critics and viewers. These mean that something is not connecting with the audience in general. For me, it is the lazy writing, bad directing and annoying characters. Good for you that you find it interesting. I just can't connect with it as I had hoped I would.
The writers were not confident with their script that they had to cast three popular idols. If it were not for them, this would have had worse ratings.
The script and the characters have to be sensible for an enjoyable watch. Shallow characters are really hard to watch. The main storyline may be unique, but it's not really relatable and does not make sense. Writers should have added much more depth to it if they were going for a family drama that surely people can almost always relate to. Instead, they focused on the ridiculous romancing part. They even added mystery plots that might have captured interest at first, but eventually became unbearably bland.
I'd say it's the lazy writing (and directing) that has made this show a bit underwhelming to watch.
I love everything about this drama except the dad I just can't like him after everything he's done I don't think…
Agreed. He's one of the main characters yet writers made him so immature and annoying for 8 episodes now. I pity the daughter. I can't stand a father who loves himself more than his kids.
Four more episodes. Maybe the writers have something that can convince us that everything he has been doing is for his family and not for himself, but I doubt I will be convinced.
It's going great so far. Chemistry is very natural and doesn't feel forced. Acting is so great and some scenes are really moving. I think it's becoming one of the most awesome healing romcom this year.
all these complaints for this drama and I’m sitting here really enjoying it. I have been sick and tired of random…
This drama is indeed much more relatable. Those murder plots in romcom are getting old. One or two of those are enough for me; more than that, I wouldn't be interested at all. This is a relaxing watch - a cry, a laugh and some heart-warming moments.
Currently halfway through episode 3.Doesn't this all seem convoluted? Couldn't the father just apologize and slowly…
Finally, someone who can see through that silly storyline. I get that people consider it as a unique take on family drama, but still I think it should at least make sense; otherwise, it just seems so absurd and, quite frankly, repulsive.
I don't get the egg cracking scene was it supposed to be funny? These shows keep on portraying woman as dumb unsesible…
Comedy seems so forced in this show. I think I would have liked this if it were a proper melodrama, rather than a circus show of cringe and silly scenes here and there that don't even look natural at all.
This show is already overstuffed with a lot of silliness and cringe. I guess another one is coming next episode. No wonder the ratings are not picking up.
this actor can only act one character self absorbed Man has been doing this one all his life
Agreed. Well, he's nice to look at, but that's all there is. I am not an acting expert, but I can see much that his acting has not elevated enough to suit him more powerful roles other than those that bank on his looks. And this story of an irresponsible father being so cute and cocky is just disgusting. I can't stand it.
I just realized the male lead has quite a few toxic fans (or maybe just one fan with multiple accounts) that I feel compelled to comment and not to continue watching this kdrama just to feel better. This show now seems to me a bit silly for dignifying the actions of an irresponsible father who, after being absent for so long, goes on showing how life has been good without his family and, backed by his newly acquired wealth, now decides to barge into their lives, romance his wife, not minding the feelings of his daughter who has taken the huge responsibility of providing for the family and devoting her life to them. The betrayal she must be feeling doubled by the fact that her little brother easily sided with the father and the mother seems to be getting swayed as well. It's pretty annoying that the father gets a better life while the family is left behind to face the repercussions of his failures. And now his fans criticize the daughter for being overly rude, yet the FATHER HAS HURT HER MUCH MORE. What's even more unfathomable is that he is so confident (almost cocky) that he can romance his way back because he's got money now. This is one very superficial drama. I am going to instead watch "Love Next Door" premiering this weekend for some fresh positive vibes and the thrilling law drama "The Good Partner". Adios!
I wanted to support my favorites so I watched this but it has become a bit not worth it for me.
Anyway, have fun with the show.
