It wasnt northern lights. They are called light pillars and have indeed been seen on Jeju island as well. Its indeed very beautiful and often due to cold conditions with ice crystals. Having said that, i would guess that they missed it, if I were yong pil.

I don't see what the problem is. Some people struggle to express their emotions verbally as doing so will make them feel vulnerable in case of rejection. Grabbing a hand is the best way to achieve a connection. What you missed is their facial expressions after they connected. Both actors are very expressive and can act very well with their eyes. What they did took extreme skill in their craft.
