Ascendous

I was gonna drop this after 6th episode. But seeing all the YouTube/IG shorts of lovey dovey scenes from last episode brought me back. Story made no sense whatsoever in last two episodes either. People wondering whether to watch. Just watch last episode.

Episode 3 and 4 were great. Now to brace for inevitable angst in next episode.

Seung Jun is so weak willed that it is frustrating. Him going under protection of bossy good guy to get over trauma from bossy asshole is not really satisfying to watch. "Guy who made me like this". Ugh. He can't even block that guy's number! Or tell trainee truth about asshole CEO. Stand up for yourself ffs. I will continue to watch but if rest of episodes is just new boyfriend protecting damsel in distress from ex then show is getting bad rating from me.

Even with skipping a lot, this series is unbearable to watch. Actors are hot and look good together but plot is brain damage inducing. I give up. I wish actors had rejected the script. Hopefully they get another BL series with a good plot.

Hated first episode. But I can already see fandom will glorify pure assholery and bullying as "sassiness". A drop for me.

Should have been six episodes at least. Now hopefully movie come soon. Hira's personality development is far from over. We need proper closure.

What is need of such long recap and "in next episode" in such short episodes. Chemistry development is so rushed. Time is wasted on unnecessary third party drama. Wouldn't matter is series had substance but for series whose total length is so short, just focusing on relationship development of main characters would have been enough. And yes no kissing is better than dead fish kissing.

Last two episodes were ruined for me by mediaeval filial piety display by the Xu an . Gay guys shouldn't endure physical torture to be accepted by family. I would rather he disown his family than submit to physical torture. Made me so angry. I didn't like how it is shown as acceptable behaviour by parents. Violence is never okay.

What a nonsensical storyline. Episodes are just 15 minutes. Still writers couldn't come up with sensible storyline. I don't know how actors managed to act in episode 6 without laughing or rolling their eyes with every dialogue.

I am confused after episode 7. Is Tanaka homophobe and has now broken friendship with takara? Last dialogue by Tanaka seems to suggest so.

So finally when ploy talked to mark things improved. As she had offered in first place. Entire one episode misery could have been avoided if Vee had said yes to her offer. It is good that Vee is fictional charachter and not real person, his ability to make stupidest possible decision in every situation is amazing.

Vee needs couple of more punches and may be a kick. Yiwaa needs to get her own life.

They had lot of time. They wasted 8 episodes on repetitive angst. 6 were more than enough for jiwoo insecure behavior. 2 for repentance, growth and reconciliation and 2 more for wrap up.

"Even stupidity has limits"- Seon joon . Hold my beer- script writers. Last episode's kisses and fluff were good but not enough to overcome lingering feeling that ji woo is extremely self centered person and seon joon is playing with fire by getting back together. "Happy" ending doesn't feel very happy. Writers try to explain by talking about relationships being imperfect but this relationship feels more toxic than imperfect. They don't even show characters learning and growing after all this 8 episode long angst. "Why did we break up? I don't even remember". A year of trauma swept under the carpet. No serious mea culpa, just 2 minutes of acting like a baby and everything is forgiven. Straight third party storyline was kinda boring and didn't make sense. Amidst fluff of last episode there were several diagogues which made no sense. Straight girl's statement she was waiting for 5 years to get back with ji woo makes no sense. She is one who dumped him and moved away and dated someone else? Ji woo saying he didn't deactivate the number because he was hoping seon joon will contact makes no sense because he actually did not check for messages for 1 year. Not even after seon joon found him and pursued him again. Not even when he blamed seo joon teeth grinding and what not for breakup. Not even when he used and threw seon joon as one night stand tissue paper.
