I'm curious to know from those who've read the novel, was the mermaid in the novel ? And what the mermaid kinda "gave " to Haishi while underwater in the first episode when she kinda "transferred" something to Haishi's hand, was that part also in the novel?
As one of those rooting for happy ending for Haishi and shifu, i was wondering what if the drama's ending changed and that magical thing from the mermaid saves shifu from Baixi in the end??? I mean im still here hopinh for a huge twist that will be different from the novel. I mean as much as this drama is so so good i just hate the fact that all 3 couples won't be happy for long and thats why i feel i can't continue to watch it cause i cant handle the heartbreaks...
I feel like it might get too depressing fir me to watch especially next week,i might drop it and come here to see if there is any hope for Haishi and shifu to end up together if not then its bye bye....

My thoughts exactly, he was happy with the empress and now has tilan but shifu has never had a choice at anything or a chance at happiness, if the emperor and Haishi sleep together I'll drop it too cause i cant bear to watchbthe rest of it after that.
After watching the trailers and spoilers of the upcoming episodes on YouTube i think the drama will be different from the novel for sure cause even though yang mi will be married by the emperor its only because Fang zhu wanted to keep her safe and thought that that was the only way so he begged the emperor to to marry her also cause he thought he might die soon or something, also since Tilan wasn't in the novel as some people have already stated here and since she'll have a son i think her child will be raised by Yang Mi so i dont think she will have a child with him cause on the trailer she's fighting against giving into the emperor cause she still loves Fang Zhu,so i don't think she'll consummate the marriage at all. Still here hoping the ending turns out differently from the novel and even if not ,i hope that they will let Haishi and Fang Zhu at least be happy and back together before the tragedy happens. I mean we are on episode 20 and i don't see how they've shown then falling un love with each other all along and never be with each other at all

I have rewatched the trailer and i think he'll fall in love with her and want to marry her but in the end she might not cause i think shifu started fighting for her or something so maybe it will be a sad ending but they'll end up together ( hopefully) cause we've not seen Haishi being married to the king in the trailer

On the wikipedia, its written that Haishi becomes the emperor's body guard but when he finds out her true identity he starts to fall for her but she's in love thing Fang Zhu , maybe just maybe there's hope for us Haha...

I loooooved this drama, really enjoyed it, good story, great acting and a happy ending. So far one of my favourite Chinese dramas alongside Princess Agents & Legend of fu yao. Can someone recpmend other dramas like these????

Thanks for this comment cause i find something off about her and i suspect that the writer will teach the lawyer's parents a lesson later on when they find out thatbtheybwere favouring the mistress all thisvtime when thats not even their grandchild, i could be wrong but who knows right? All three cheating husbands need to face karma at some point in this drama otherwise we'd all have been stressed watching these two seadon for nothing
