He respected MingXian and was inspired but as soon as he found that she is a girl he bacame obsessed with having her...Just because she was kind toward him doesnāt mean she has to reciprocate his feeling but he takes no "No" for this... So his misfortune in love is something he is bringing on himself...The best ending for him would be to forget Ming Yi and move on with the fox girl... That's what I was also trying to say..well said!! The difference between their betrayal is so thin that most people do not see the emotional effect both are costing each other...How they betrayed and manipulated each other..Her situation being more desperate justify our thoughts because we are seeing things from her pov but he doesnāt know and trust me he doesnāt owe her any cure or anything... She came to every conclusion herself and went through her plan manipulating situations..

I think we should focus on the length of betrayal.. He knew she didnāt actually love him and was also using him..but he thought she only wanted money and security While he was using her but he didnāt went to her she is the one who came to be used...His using and tricking her were more or less in the open but she literary went from a simple girl to a powerful warrior who also happened to be after his Golden millet dream which is coveted by everyone and for him she was the only one who didnāt want that from him as it could cause him death ( we still do not know much about this) And boy has fallen in love so his feeling and trust were both betrayed...
