The struggle of watching a drama when you can't stand the male lead actor.
I do not like Shohei , the male lead as an actor. I hated the fact that he had so much screentime. I wished I could have just fast forwarded all his scenes; unfortunately , I would be missing the plot. However, I like the lead actress ( loved her acting in other works), loved the storyline, the ensemble cast so that's why I decided to continue watching even though I cant stand the ML..Not too familiar with the " host world" so this drama was also educational in some kinds of way .
I loved the camaraderie, how we got to hear more about the life of all the hosts and how they ended there. Great acting for the whole cast, great fun drama . I also loved how the FL finally found something to do in her life that she really loved. It's never too late. I didn't care for all the past stories about the FL and ML bc once again I cannot stand the ML and that whole kids-adults storyline first love is so played out.
Very happy for the female lead as she doesn't have a lot of leading roles; she's always a support role in a few J dramas I've watched so this was great 👏👏👏.
Watch it if you want to see a female lead growth, camaraderie, friendship, learn more about something different ( host).

The BEST LDK version and cutest love story you'll see.
This is the sweetest young love story you'll see. I also watched so many of these Japanese movies and this is truly up there with the best ones out of them.There's absolutely nothing new with the script. We have seen it thousands times: insecure cute girl falls for " the bad boy " at her school, a love triangle ensue , he begins to fall in love with who she's as a person. This has been done million of times but what makes this movie stand out and so much loved and the BEST LDK version ( sorry Kento), it's the chemistry of Mone, Sugino and Ryusei. Especially the chemistry between Mone and Sugino and the fact that they're still amazing friends till this day ( they're currently doing a TBS program... that's literally almost 5 years after the drama ended), have supported each other projects throughout the years.. just warm my heart. Beautiful love story and well acted. Give it a try. I have been a big fan of these 3 since this movie and loved how each of them are so successful today.Was this review helpful to you?

I don't cry easily but I was sobbing watching this drama lol. So inspiring, so touching, so beautiful. Also Tori never disappoints. What an actor. I can tell that the show took a great deal of care, research into making this drama and I really appreciate it. I'm never rewatching it again even though it's so beautiful but it's a little too sad but I really loved it. It's a beautiful emotional love story.Cinematography, music, plot..... everything was amazing. I love how it shed a light on how the daily life of people with that disability.

Best Japanese Rom-Com in the last decade.
What can I say about this legendary drama that hasn't already been said? There's a reason why this drama was a phenomenon in Japan and overseas when it was released. It was Mone 's breakout role and catapulted Sato to international stardom. I watch a lot of Japanese dramas and this drama is really up there with the very best of them ;from the last 3 decades even. Even till this day Koitsudu still top most popular/beloved of most lists least in Japan. The OST obsessed, I still listen to it till this day. The script is not new. This has been done so many times but the huge success of this drama is mostly because of Mone and Takeru electric, amazing chemistry imo. I don't rewatch dramas often but this is 1 of the few I rewatch the most. It's such a beautiful slow burn falling in love story. Amazing cast, cinematography, music...this is 1 of the rare instances where everything came together to create MAGIC ✨Was this review helpful to you?
Simple beautiful love story
I don't know why it took me so long to watch this; I kept postponing it lol. It was a simple love story and kind of coming of age too as well. Realizing your worth, stand for what you believe in and live in your own terms..I need the male lead actor in more dramas or movies, he's gorgeous and can act. I like the FL acting as well; I love how she grew as a person throughout the movie. Great little drama especially compared to some that are highly rated with a lot of budget but don't live up to the expectation.Was this review helpful to you?
Very disappointed: A waste of a talented cast.
I was so excited to watch this drama and the plot seemed great. I also like really Iwata as an actor ( so I was really looking forward to this) and this drama was at the top of my list of dramas I wanted to watch . It was so disappointing. The actors are great and I'm not blaming them at all. I've watched them in other Japanese dramas so this is not their fault. It is the way the story flowed, was told, was filmed. I don't know what the director was trying to accomplish here but I hated it. Even the dialogue felt contrived or badly presented so I'm blaming this on the scriptwriter as well. On the bright side, the cinematography was ok. I want to reiterate again that the actors are amazing. I've seen their works in other projects, everything else just fell off short. So annoyed. There's nothing like really looking forward to see something and you end up disappointed smh .Was this review helpful to you?
