I agree. Hopefully, with more international viewers and more fans, Reba and Leo Wu will have enough support against all the hate.

@Dragnelia and @Kayla_21, some stars have connection to the CCP and this is why their dramas can get past censorship, guaranteed to air, and so forth. The ties between ZL and CCP has been discussed in heated fan sites in the past because there were arguments that ZL is destined to stardom through her own talents and hard work (as evident by how many dramas she has starred in) while others said it's also due to the backing of her parents.

@Dragnelia, this seems to align with the rumors that they're trying to promote Lusi into becoming a megastar like Reba. Lusi also have the backing of her mom, who's part of the CCP, so it's just a matter of time before she becomes super famous. I guess this is why Reba always emphasize how she wants to grow as an actress and not focus on her rankings or popularity.

@Johanna Linna Karlsson, beautiful connection between the scenes!!! I love your ability to connect the details in this drama. I think this is also telling of the amount of details that have been put into the drama, but for folks like me, often misses.

@Dragnelia thanks for the explanation! It's fun to read all these tidbits because now it makes a lot of sense about the politics behind the dramas.

Here is the full translation of the novel for those that want to read it:
Thank you! I tried reading the original novel through Google translate and it was giving me a headache. This is so much better!

Is it really flopping in china I thought it’s doing good
I think @dramaaddicted123 may be using figures in comparison to other dramas that have aired. For example, Legend of Fei had 4 billion views, and so has The Brocade and the Sword during its airing. Those numbers matter to sponsors. Now, we don't know the numbers of viewerships for international broadcasts of The Long Ballad, but hopefully, those mumbers will also be taken into account. What I hope is that Netflix US picks this drama up because their selection for Cdrama is lacking in strong female protagonists, and this drama screams strong FL lead.

Ok so I wanna start this drama especially since I heard it has a good ending however the only thing that's holding…
The princess was trained on military strategies since young. She knows a lot about military strategies through reading and through her teachers, who are advisors to the royal family. She was raised to ride horses, know archery and so forth. The first few episodes will explain her background.

I wonder if YT will use the liar liar pants on fire too lol. That's why I'm waiting for Netflix to pick it up…
Does anyone know if Netflix will pick it up? I signed the form and have family members fill one out but not sure how many times someone need to request a drama for Netflix to consider it.

I starting to think that the director use his own way to portrait GeSun’s love in a unique way. They grow together,…
I feel the same way. The way Sun helps Changge, how he allows her room to grow, makes mistakes, pushes her to survive, and stand by her through it all. The man respects her!!!! Meanwhile, Changge, while she's battling a lot of inner demons (depression/loss of family and home), she also deeply cares for the Eagle Division and Sun. She never try to implicate Sun and his division in her shenanigans (even though we can see the flaws in her plans). GeSun actions, their trials and tributlations, and how they wholeheartedly trust one another through it all is so refreshing to see.

Ok ... this is out of the topic but since all of you love the theme song by Zhou Shen, you nust watch this clip…
I also love his interactions with Dilraba on Happy Camp. I don't know much about musicians in China, but isn't Zhou Shen a big name now? Or is he still trying to prove himself on variety shows?

I'm interested to know, why did you all start watching TLB? and where did you first hear about it?For me, I first…
I read the manhua two years ago. I love the story, especially Changge character arc but was so sad the manhua couldn't finish due. Anyway, i didn't have high expectations for the drama but then I was suckered in when I heard about how much hate Dilraba received for accepting this role (netizens saying she was ugly, doesnt fit the part, too old, etc.) And that riled me up because Changge is half Ugyhur in the freaking manhua and as a someone who loves the manhua, I was offended that people thinks the female lead shouldn't be Ugyhur? Sorry.. maybe I'm bringing in Hollywood racial politics into this... but yeah, that caught my attention. And that's why I wanted to see the drama. However, my original plan was to wait until this drama finished airing. But my niece in Vietnam was watching this and she was so addicted, she kept sending me clips to watch. And that hooked me to no end. So now, I'm busy checking FB, Twitter, and this forum on the latest gossip about this drama. :-)

I am so glad Qu Chuxiao fell through, because now that I see Leo Wu in this role, I cannot imagine anyone else playing A'Sun.

It's because ever since this drama aired, her name has been trending hot and up like hot potato almost everyday…
@Fairydustpuppy Yeah.. I heard the same thing, but I'm getting my news via Vietnamese gossip site. I think the fact that Zhao Lusi fandom also tried to make it seem like she was more deserving of the lead role vs Dilraba also has not sit well with others. And the fact that they kept pushing that ZS is the saving grace of this whole drama, and putting down all the other cast members. Granted, this may just be toxic fandom, but the gossip is also, why doesn't ZS reel in her fans? Meanwhile, Dilraba's and Leo Wu's interviews have all been about the collective ensemble and how everyone contributed to the success of the drama. Anyway, that's all I heard. If other see or know anything to add, please share.

When Sun won the duel and dragged Changge to take her away, she pauses for a moment, looks him in the eye, doesn't…
@Dragnelia, beautiful insight!!! I haven't considered the points you mentioned, but now that you raised it, it makes so much sense! Changge, for all her impulsiveness, does care about A'Sun. She can only protect him in her own way...

They hid Pusa so well, I can't even begin how shocked I was to find out that Wang Ruichang will play Changge's…
I cannot get over his Corona dance!!! It was the weirdest and funniest bit I've seen since the production team actually incorporated something like that into a historical drama.
