Oh I was going to ask if second male lead get a happy ending. Since in the intro I saw a funeral scene and was hoping he will not die. And in a trailer I saw he got stabbed and his daughter crying. Can you please spoil for me if he is alive? I just started this and don't want to much angst. Thanks.

They do a recap in the beginning of Season 2, but I think it will be confusing if you don't watch Season 1 first. There are a lot of characters in the story so I would say yes, you would need to watch Season 1 first to understand everything. Also, in my opinion Season 1 was a lot better than Season 2. I personally prefer the ML from Season 1 more than Season 2. Nothing against the actor, I just think Arthur Chen fit the role better.

I didn't even know they made this until it premiered. I agree the chemistry between the trio is lacking, Besides Panzi, the other two actors does not fit their role. I actually quite enjoyed the one with Neo Hou, I felt he had great chemistry with Panzi. I also loved Ultimate Note which the whole cast was great and all had great chemistry. Even Mystic Nine which was filmed way back awhile ago is so much better than this so far. This is a bit of disappointment. I'm only on Ep2. Gonna give it a few more episodes hoping it gets better since I do like this story series.

Agree. I feel the same. I also feel using his weak spot for his daughter who is actually not alive to be a spy on him is a low move for the police. Even if it is meant to get rid of the bad guys. There should be a boundary line of how far or low they can go. Not sure if I want to continue after this.

Okay, so I guess I was wrong on the theory that Janine character might not be Mr. Ou's daughter and a spy. I find this a bit of a shocker and at same time not sure if I like it. I would have preferred she be Mr. Ou's daughter and just trying to ruin her dad's business...

I actually don't find the female lead annoying. I find her interesting since she seem to have a mystery behind her. She definitely smarter than she is acting to be. The person I find annoying is actually Rong Yao for keep blaming ML for his sis death when it's not within his control. And the female cop. She keep disobeying orders and cause trouble.

I agree with Jialuna. It wouldn't make sense since she is Mr. Ou's daughter. But it's possible that she was an organ donor and her parts were used to help Ou Kexin. Since it was mentioned that Ou Kexin was disfigured after a bombing incident.

I’m really liking the relationship between ML and his gangster bro. Sad that they are opposites sides. Seem like the gangster bro treats ML like a true brother…

Same for me. I think the FL and ML are doing a great job. I can def feel ML love for FL. I'm loving it more than Ashes of Love so far. I feel the pacing is good and not the story is not too slow. Hope it keeps up the pace throughout. And the songs in this series are so good! I just hope Snow Goddess does not stay in the story too long. I really dislike her character. Also Wu Huan.

Is it a happy ending? I came to the forum about to ask when Yin Ruo stop being annoying and in the way of the leads but I guess from your comment it last all the way through the series...sign. I'm only on ep8 but I feel the whole beginning about how the FL becomes a maid was unnecessary. The story would have been fine if they start with Yang Xiao just wanting to reopen the route and fine the FL to do so and then off starts their journey. I don't think the story needs Yin Ruo's character. I find that the second lead jealous and become bad for ML love storyline to be repetitive in series and annoying. I personally have been enjoying series where 1st and 2nd leads have their own love story instead of a triangle. It would have been better. I have to skip all Yin Ruo parts since her character annoys me too much.

Me too! They are what is keeping me watching this. In addition to some of the scenes between the Lord and the Dragon are pretty funny too.

I agree. I like the ML and FL but I don't understand why they need to have so many misunderstandings. And the FL how can she be so stupid at times. All the secrets she kept from him were unnecessary. Especially stealing the intelligence. I think she should be smart enough to know how dangerous that is and honestly she was being used. I liked her character in the beginning but right now I just don't understand what she is doing. She meddle in people's business that has nothing to do with her nor can she really help. The ML too, I mean selling his concubine. If he really has feelings for her as a man there are things he should have known not to say. He doesn't have any respect for her when he's upset. I hope to see them realize feelings for each other and grow together in a more positive way soon.
