I am not sure it's hate. hate is a big word. I love Eiw but I can understand what people are saying, I love the character and actually remember girls friends acting like this. I was thinking- if the audience is young 'shoujo' category as you called them, focus on school kids, but if the story is about adults, let them behave like adults, it seems to me like the girls gets miss representation of the adults world, very wrong behaviour, very childish and hysterical. I don't think it Is a wrong culture judgment, I am western and not from Japan but I cannot understand why make young viewers think adults behave like this.
