I'd rather they didn't add any romance because male centered shows like these are usually just for the men but they need female audience to boost the rating and what do they do? They sprinkle in some romance but they don't really invest in the romance and if they are not going to invest, don't include it in. That's my opinion. Guardians of Dafeng and Mortal Ascension were other dramas thaf seriously did not need romance. Guardians of Dafeng , no chemistry there. He had more of chemistry with every body else but her. It was still going to work without the romance. Mortal Ascension felt like a harrm drama. Hated it. They made the women very weak and also they were portrayed very annoying, barely any skill but somehow alive and the last scene of him hugging her made him lose all his earned cultivation. You should have seen me. Cursing everyone out including their pets ancestors. So, no romance is needed.

The ending of Dear X was wild. He chose to expose her on the one day she had clawed her way toward, after everything. Sure, she was manipulative and psychotic, but he had his own savior complex—an obsession with “fixing” her and controlling her. And when he couldn’t save her, or have her, that sanctimonious little shit decided the only way out was dragging her into death with him.
So your only problem was the age... Anyway, you missed out on a great drama just because you couldn't wrap your head around the age and may they never remake this drama all in the name of age appropriate thing you're so bent on.
