Plot and acting are pretty decent. Im just glad that they didn't spoil the whole drama by dragging it to 40 eps. At 24 eps, pretty sufficient for a simple revenge storyline and romance with little angst.

This drama was in my watchlist since i subscribed to netflix during covid. Decided to give this drama a try due to it's high ratings as well as taking a breather from rom-coms. Verdict...finished in 2 days, absolutely loved it, cried and laughed, and sometimes surprised at some unexpected turn of events. Fav characters 1. Looney..cracks me up all the time. 2. Lt Paeng...hard on the outside but a real softie on the inside. 3. Capt Yoo...what a hottie. I will be watching DP next becoz of him. 4. Joon Ho...the best brother from a different mother. 5. Je Hyuk...a real softie who will rise to the occasion when needed. Also kudos to the other characters as well, who contributed to the drama's success. Will recommend this heart warming drama series to friends. And thank you Netflix.
Hi, can someone tell me if xu kai's character, Li Ni, son of the emperor or grandson? I am on the first ep, supposedly to be the son, but synopsis of the drama says grandson. A bit confused. Thks.
omg..same here, i just noticed the 'Leaving Soon' sign last nite. In order to finish Rise of the Phoenix on time,…
I dropped the series a few days ago at ep 44. Took a sneak peek at last ep, knew the ending and Bye2. Now watching Alliance and tiger and crane. No comments yet on the latter but the former drama, Alliance, the actor who portrayed the lying cheating bastard husband is pretty good. He made everyone hate his character and thats the aim of good acting.

Same same...school, housework, cooking meals, i even brought my tablet into the bathroom to catch up and sometimes i will watch dramas while cooking n having meals. Hahaha..what a life..
Well, finally finished it, and it was quite a ride. The drama was quite moving and heart warming and i found myself tearing up at certain scenes, like when hui soo's dad cried during his wife's funeral, that kang hoon's dad did all he can to protect his beloved son etc. They may have superpowers, but the parents were just parents trying to protect their kids and give them a normal life. Moving is confirmed a season 2 and i really hope it will be better than season 1.
watched the first 4 eps uploaded by netflix last nite. It was so so n a bit draggy in certain parts. Physical 100 was better although more brawny than brainy. In the devil's plan, i couldn't understand how the games were played, as the rules were extensive. Ended up playing with my phone while watching.

finally gonna sit down a watch since I’ve finished watching “My Journey to You” and it’s now leaving Netflix…
omg..same here, i just noticed the 'Leaving Soon' sign last nite. In order to finish Rise of the Phoenix on time, need to drop everything and watched at least 4 - 5 eps daily until oct 12th. Sigh.
Cant believe that he made his character Seo In ho kind of 'love him but hate him at the same time'. Brilliant acting by this actor. Pray that he will get more acting leads in future. 🥰

Dear friends, i m only at ep 3 but so far this drama resonated with me. I was once in Dr Cha's shoes, had a wonderful career in the publishing industry, gave it all up to raise my 3 boys, abandoned by my ex when my oldest just 7, came out to work with very low self esteem, no self confidence, and self doubt. But the first step is always the hardest. In the 16 yrs since my ex left and we divorced, he got married again, i got my bachelor, masters, 2 teaching certs and now a teacher for special needs, as my twins are autistic Dr Cha's character is sweet and motherly. She will need time to grow as an individual and not relegated to being the wife of Prof Seo. She will need to find her own identity, own bearings, overcome self doubt and indecisiveness and lessen her dependency on her husband. But all good. Crossing fingers and hoped that this drama gives hope to women in my previous situation. God bless.
I started counting umbrellas after reading your comment. lol I'm on ep 16 and have also counted 3 umbrellas. I'm…
Haha...really hilarious...finished the drama... its a good ending. I am watching Till the end of the moon, overlord and love is sweet at the same time. Binge watching the actress Bai Lu.
A lot of comments about Lee Kyung Young. Yes...he has been getting a lot of baddie roles. Maybe it is karma, for him to play the bad guys, if not no one will hire him due to his reputation. Anyway, on another actor, Lee Sung Min, who acted as Song Joong Ki's grandpa in Reborn Rich. At first, he was a grandfather everyone wanted to avoid, and then he became a father and grandfather everybody cannot do without. Brilliant acting. I hope to see more of Lee Sung Min playing lovable father or grandfather in future dramas.
