I thought so. All these chaos caused by the possessive female fans of these younger idol/populor actors. Such fan behaviour is unhealthy as they feel they have ownership of their idol, dictating who should act along side them. I tend to believe this is endemic to fans in the mainland. It is sad.

I am sure there will be action scenes not captured by these 'reuters'. They cannot possibly stretch to 40 episodes! Btw, who are these reuters? How did they manage to sneak into the production locations? I thought they are News agencies🤣

Yes, I'd like to see her ML like Jing Boran or Wallace Chung. Not idol drams, but with substance. I am sure she'll be venture into that direction.
However, I notice whenever Reba acts with anyone who is younger, may it be just 3-6years, it's always contentious! There are heaps of other combinations where the MLs are much much youunger eg some of SongWeiLong's FL lead are more than 9-10years older. I am curious, were there any reactions from their fans or antis??

It is most unfortunate that one is passed over for film because of looking different. There are so many ethnic groups in China with their distinct sharp features and dare I say, so much prettier. But, shouldn't that be an opportunity for them to prove that they are inclusive and there is no discrimination against them!? That will shine a better light, and favour them to the rest of the world! Ah, but then we are getting too political here😔
I guess being good at what you do, how naturally beautiful you look, simply isn't enough. It's the connections and those influencial enough and willing to support you. That is why I have such soft spot for her.

Yang Mi is confident being who she is, hence not threaten by Reba. With that she is comfortable to lend a hand and lift someone.

I've always wondered with suspicion that she's been sidelined/held back because she's not a han chinese. So I totally agree with your thoughts that being who she is may garner unfavourably for her, in and out of the mainland. Not that she shies away being who she is. I think she is proud of being a Uyghur. The fact that she has to work harder to prove herself, while there are those who cannot act as well simply get the accolates, annoys me.

I think they liken it to be beautiful if one is fair of face, or having light complexion. Hence, the poor actors/actresses end up looking pasty and un-natural because of the lighter foundations they get plastered on!😂

Wow looks epic! I believe that's a new genre of action/thriller/fantasy she's taken. And she's nailing it! She has such expressive eyes - communicating emotions without words.

You mean when one is 19 and the other 31? That is a gap! It is strange though - because most people can accept such a gap if the ML is much older than the FL.
In this drama, the ML is a young general and FL is a beautiful 400yo ghost. So they do match!

I have read one third of the translated book, and I can actually picture both of them in the roles, nailing it. So regardless how the screenwriters rearticulate or rescipt, we can only hope for the best. It is happening, so we just have to stay positive and support it.
