I hope the people who loved this drama will comment more. I am the type of a watcher who tries to read comments before starting so I hope those who are considering watching this will not be discouraged.
It is a fun drama. And if you look closely to the ones who did not like it. Their reasons are probably not aligned with your thinking. It would be a bummer if you will skip it.
The FL is Jia Cheng and Xu Yan's basketball coach since 2019, so its normal that they are close. The FL and Jia…
XiaoXiao, Jia Cheng and Xuyan has sports as their common interests, and that's how they got close.
The ML does not have anything in common with the FL, so there's no opportunity for them to meet prior to the fashion event from ep 1.
I don't mix my friend groups with each other, if I know there's nothing common for them to talk about coz that would be awkward. Unless I want to introduce them and play cupid. While watching, I just assume that's how Jia Cheng and Xu Yan think.
It was not mentioned how his sister and the FL got close, but Jia Cheng probably mentions her while they were together. Both are girls and the FL has a crush with Jia Cheng, so it's convenient for them to get acquainted.
Why is it that the FL is so close to the best friends of the of the ML to the point where she even knows the sister…
The FL is Jia Cheng and Xu Yan's basketball coach since 2019, so its normal that they are close. The FL and Jia Cheng were literally best friends as well. The FL and ML just met at ep 1, present time so they are not familiar with each other.
I'm a bit skeptical whenever I hear news of him being paired up with a traffic star, but if the latest melon turns out to be true, I'll definitely support Oliver's latest drama 💯
Why hasn't this drama released in youku international app or youtube official channel like their other dramas…
This is also produced by Linmon Pictures, and the eps with subs are available on their YT channel. Their uploads are behind from the eps released in mainland though.
The only possible way she could've come clean to LTG with her real identity is IF they got reunited under different circumstances, just like her with Mei Niang (who already got out of Scarlet Guards).
Maybe if he met her before he became the envoy of An, who knows...
I’m in episode 20, can someone explain why ru yi is hiding her identity from Li tong? I mean wouldn’t it be…
1. They don't owe him anything. Her identity as Ren Xin was already "dead".
2. He will definitely find ways to insert himself to her business beacause of how obsessed he is. Him finding out her true identity will just blow up her cover. He literally belongs to their enemy's camp, and there are lots of spies and other people lurking around everywhere.
LTG's character was written as annoying, but somehow I'm really not that annoyed lol. Specially since currently, he's really not a threat between the leads' relationship.
I see many people here eagerly waiting for his character development arc, but maybe he won't get any of this? Maybe he will just stay as a flawed character?
I mean with his current behavior, it would be more acceptable/logical for him to be just a successful heir but still with his emotional baggage, than to have a complete 180 change especially towards Ruyi overnight. In drama's timeline, it's only been several weeks since the start of this trip to An. How can LTG, a young man having decades of emotional trauma and red flags have a change of heart in such a short period?
Like in real life, there are just people who get over their mean phase while some are stuck with their bad personality for a long time.
Or maybe some drama fans need to justify their admiration for LTG so they want him to change his personality asap lol
As long as the main leads steadily proves their strength and the actual plot keeps on moving, this series will still be great.
Also, congrats to AJTL for reaching 8.8 here in MDL.
It also just kind of irritates me that they won’t just tell him the truth like I feel like I would go mad too…
because they don't really owe him anything. Their main focus is to have the emperor saved and for their "peace talks" to work. The FL repeatedly states that her identity as Ruyi has long been dead.
At this state, it changes nothing whether they reveal her identity to him or not. It will just complicate things further because of his clingy as*.
I liked that the story is just simple and pretty straight forward. Though I have to say that is also the reason why I didn't feel like it was a pefect series or worthy of 10.
Both of the main characters are good, but I feel like they were two-dimensional for almost the entire series. The only times I felt the characters were "alive" were on the last 5 episodes, they were the most heartfelt parts.
I always look for a connection or for me to be pulled in the drama's world, to feel like they actually exist. That way, I can fully immersed myself and enjoy what I watch. Sadly, I didn't find it here.
I applaud ZLS and CZY because they pulled off what the show wants them to be. It's just that SZ and DJX's characterization for the most parts are too simple. It didn't evoke that sense of immersion that I would have wanted to achieve.
All in all, I feel like I was watching ZLS with CZY flirting on screen. Their looks, height difference and built are well suited together. I was more entertained in seeing them on screen rather than focusing on Sang Zhi with Duan JiaXu.
A score of 9 is not that bad for this genre.
8.5 for both leads because they did well . 5 for Sang Yan because MBQ is hot. Lol
I've already had my fair share of bad guy- good girl characters from other dramas that's why I prefer the main couple on this series more.
The good thing about them is that their characters have more layers, their vulnerabilities, their strengths will uncover as the show progress. Its like we will get to know more of them throughout the show like the ML having three more characters. I just find it refreshing.
Never. China has banned BLs so that means everything Priest has written won't likely see the light of day. I hope…
The ongoing drama, Justice in the Dark is from an adapted novel by Priest. There is actually a possibility that other series with the same genre might air soon. Though the love lines will definitely be removed in order for them to air.
He’s not that bad looking but his acting is not that good tbh
He does not have a backer, unless he himself publicly say it. It is better to say that he got better resources from his agency because they are capable enough.
He receives lead role offers maybe because of the hype he got from GMP, is it that hard to believe?
Maybe you don't like him as an actor, and thats fine, but you don't need to make up those funny conclusions to suit your narrative. You can enjoy this series or maybe find something else that will make you contented. :))
I respect your preference if you're not into that. If that show airs, they would probably remove any "gayness" because of the censorship.
But if he thinks the role is good then he can act on it. He already acted on dramas with female leads, he also had a drama with no love line. As long as he can do well, it's fine. Either way, we can all enjoy this series for now.

It would be nice not to mention other artist in a bad light. I just replied to the other OP because I became a fan of CXX because of how well he can express intense emotions from his previous dramas, and I hardly see anyone who does not like his acting.
Him and Zhang Xin Cheng are what I can say the better actors. But the rest are still pretty decent.

It was a happy (not rushed) ending.
10 for me.

In our country, it is available in viu but I still watch it in Linmon YT using vpn and it works so far.
You can also check them in Viki and Viu.
