Can someone tell me how long was shiyi in a coma for? I saw that their wedding in episode 30 was on may 11th
According to the original novel and Bailu's interview as Shiyi's character, Shiyi's coma time is 2 months. Their wedding reception is 1 year after they made the marriage certificate, as we know May 11 is their wedding anniversary. So, there was a gap of several months after Shiyi was in a coma for her healing and recovery before they celebrated their wedding.

Just curious... In One and Only, (cuz my friend just watched and asked me), when ZSC is awaiting execution, that…
I've read someone's comment, whether it's true or not, actually there was a scene that was deleted when general Yangsao met ZSC he actually wanted to save him and take him out of prison but ZSC didn't want it.
Instead of wanting to get out of there, ZSC asked him to pass on his last message to SY (which we know was one of his promises to SY that whatever happens to him, life or death, someone will inform SY) and ask general Yangsao to protect SY. Because of course the palace is not a safe place for SY, in the palace full of wiles and people who are hungry for power, like when SY told him the night before SY got married that she was afraid to make a problem that affected the name of ZSC's residence and ZSC said that he was not afraid that SY would cause trouble, he was just afraid that SY would not be happy in the palace. Then the fact that ZSC was framed in the palace was labeled as a traitor, of course he was afraid that one day SY would be hurt if she lived in that cruel palace, so he ask general Yangsao to save her. It seems that the details of the SY rescue and protection efforts were planned by prince Pingxin (ZSC's adoptive brother), general Yangsao and her mother.

Okay so my 2 cents after reading the book, watching the series and reading the comments. Thoughts are mostly on…
From my point of view, who also read the novel version and saw the drama, I will focus on the ZSC character.

I actually said in a previous comment that ZSC's character in the novel was a bit stiff at first, blind to love, and lacked initiative at the start. But in the novel ZSC is not made as innocent and rigid as in the drama. Indeed, the first kiss was started by SY, but ZSC immediately replied. Then it continued their second kiss came from ZSC's own request, and other touches that were initiated by ZSC and sometimes Shiyi after the two were married.

ZSC is described as a very fast and good learner regarding his physical contact with Shiyi, this is where the development of their relationship begins and deepens. The difference between the novel and the drama is that in the novel ZSC's character is bolder and more confident when he touches SY. This is the expectation and fresh air for viewers of OnO's tragic drama and novels. So many are disappointed because they can't watch it in this version of the FnE drama.

In addition, ZSC's power in the family is also emphasized in the novel. ZSC manages breakfast time, all employees call da saoye (first young master), he is very protective of Shiyi, even when Shiyi has appendicitis which is actually someone's attempt to put poison in, ZSC shows deep emotions because his protection was breached.
He has access and power in the family and his stepmother is not as strong as in the drama. At first he was described as just a bystander in the family, but when it comes to Shiyi he comes into action and thinks of hundreds of ways to protect her.
The novel version of ZSC couldn't be suppressed that much by his stepmother and extended family because he had his stand and strength.

In the drama, because it was forbidden to bring up the theme of reincarnation, many changes were made, including Shiyi's character, which was made stronger, more independent, and had more initiative. Whereas in the novel Shiyi's character is made very obedient, believes and dedicates her life just to be with ZSC.
Changes that more or less also change the plot and character of ZSC. ZSC was made to be as human and innocent as possible. The circumstances of the ZSC family which are not made as deep and cruel as in the novel also change the plot a lot.

In drama, we can see a different point of view from them. His innocence is attractive and funny for some, but for others it is also less satisfying. Instead of really expecting to see lots of passionate kissing scenes or provocative touches, I think they and of course I, have the hope of seeing ZSC confident in SY, being as comfortable as possible around SY after their journey to the wedding.

Indeed, his beautiful bones remain well-described in both lives, as well as between novels and dramas. But it is undeniable that some character changes in ZSC make their spark of love and chemistry lessen. From the very beginning, the romance-themed drama was made to make the audience flutter. And the main reason is because of the deep and reciprocal interactions of the main couple. Our glasses as observers are very observant of the development of relationships. If one character is still made uncomfortable with the other, then the audience will be able to see it.

I am very sad and heartbroken to lose the past version of ZSC, who just with his gaze and small gestures has made me know that he really loves SY.
In this version even with 3/4 episodes already aired, I don't feel half of their chemistry is reflected in this version. I don't see a strong belief in his feelings, I don't see the deep emotion in each of his gazes, I don't feel a flutter at his little gesture towards SY.
He was too cautious and afraid. He hesitated, even though in this version he should be more free to express his feelings because he is not bound by oaths and status.

Actually, if we look at the background of the two in the past and present, they are almost the same. The past ZSC had trauma to the palace family who always suspected him, wanted to throw him away and eliminate him, even the older brother he trusted and loved the most doubted him. ZSC today is not much different, he always feels isolated and unsuitable in the midst of his family, his mother has never been accepted by the big family, and he is only used by relatives who want something. In the past and present ZSC never knew love until SY came into his life.
So it should be with the same trauma background and circumstances, then the feelings shown should also be similar. But strangely in this version, the depth of his emotions and feelings is not so described.

Characters that are made as innocent may actually be quite adorable for some people, but the character development and relationships in this drama are honestly a little frustrating because the characters are too rigid.
And need to be reminded Oh my God, they are even a couple who have been married for a few months and spent their wedding night, but why are their emotions and feelings still not conveyed enough?

Surprisingly I saw the deep emotion of Meixing's gaze on Shiyi even though their contact was less than ZSC's.

I don't know it's because of the first shooting, the director's direction or even the script that was written that way, but overall the execution was less than optimal.
I really appreciate the drama OnO which is packaged very beautifully. Hopefully with the remaining 8 episodes can improve this drama version a bit.

So I’m going to be most hated on this page but I have to say this: Allen is ruining this series by not doing…
Actually I don't like dramas where too many kiss scenes are not important so it makes it weird. But in this FnE drama, the kiss scene is very meaningful because every time the intimate scene takes place, the closeness and chemistry between ZSC and SY is getting closer, so I really agree with you. The kiss scenes in this drama are absolutely necessary for the development of their relationship, and if they are avoided and replaced with kisses on the cheek and kisses on the forehead, the essence of the novel is lost, and the drama is still good but not that great. The sexual attraction between them as a married couple is very lacking and I feel like I only see a flat sweet relationship. The romance in the drama is still there but I'm not satisfied and a lot of people miss their moments. So I prefer OnO drama because there is no need for a kiss scene but I feel complete, ZSC's character is even more powerful and touching. Hopefully the next episode will make this drama better or I will lose my feeling about it.

After watching the latest episode, Zhousheng Chen's stepmother's point of view is even more open to us. At least, my dislike is a little less than before. Previously, we were only treated to a figure who was firm, stubborn, and certainly did not approve of the relationship between ZSC and Shiyi. But from this episode we are drawn to see through zsc's stepmother, that actually zsc's matchmaking is also done for zsc's good so that in the future he can hold power. Wife's family who has power and influence can support zsc. It's true that in the drama her mother's character is more outspoken and selfish than in the novel, but we are also given an understanding of that, and actually the original character of fairness is still attached to both the novel and the drama, so I'm quite satisfied.

I don't know if it's just my feelings or if it's true, several times I've seen Chinese dramas whether it's a love story at school, college or even the world of work, almost all male characters have hairdos and clothes that stand out and maximal, but for female characters only look ordinary or even some look less. That's why I'm quite surprised by this drama which has a very good hairdo and clothes for the female character

I am still sitting on the fence on this. In the novel, I couldn't relate to Shiyi and I also didn't like ZSC.…
I think maybe because we haven't been presented with Zhousheng Chen's acts of compassion and concern for local people in this modern life so that we feel something is missing in FnE drama, his deep thoughts and actions towards society in this modern life are only briefly seen in the drama. In fact, we will feel familiar with the past version of Zhousheng Chen who is full of compassion and care for his people if the character is highlighted more. For now, we are only shown briefly and instead the more proactive in the scene is Meixing character. So maybe for the next scenes we will feel more about the past version of zhousheng chen, hopefully.

Okay, I have finally caught up to the latest episode. imo, I think I like novel chen more than drama chen. They…
In this point I'm the same as you, I regret that the character are more naive and the character who have enough power are removed in the drama, and also the depth of the innocent character makes us unable to see Zhousheng Chen who took the initiative when he was with Shiyi. But at least, we get a bonus that his character is warmer, really respects shiyi's opinion and is very responsible, especially regarding shiyi. We can see that he was very responsible when their engagement was broken by meeting the shiyi family, he was the one who asked for their marriage to be registered. Hopefully, in the next episode, we can see Zhousheng Chen's character getting better and better.

In this life, Zhousheng Chen only shed tears four times, the first time when the older brother he loved the most and took care of him since childhood had passed away, the second time was when someone he had considered as a teacher and father left him forever, the third time was when for the first time he knew shiyi's feelings for him but he couldn't do anything about it and the last time was when he stood on the city wall escorting shiyi to fulfill her duty to marry the crown prince. Even when he was tortured with bone release punishment he didn't wail or cry.

A man full of suffering but very strong, a great general full of compassion who was slandered as a traitor, a man who has and gives extraordinary love to his people but cannot receive love from someone he loves...our Zhousheng Chen ❤
