He redeemed himself by apologising and acknowledging the mistake he made. its as simple as that.

Are you perfect then, have you never made a single mistake, never said something you shouldn't have?? Spoken out of turn, been young, green and cocky??? I have made many many mistakes in my life but I am not in the public eye. So I have not apologised for them. He did not rape anyone, he had an opinion that is old fashioned - he's grown up since then - grown up enough to apologise. Seems you have some catching up to do.
