I love your analysis and how you explored those detailes that were improtant for the development in their relationship.Keep…
Thank you Tato! Tbh whenever I write an analysis it means I've just finished re-watching it cause every rewatch brings new ideas and details in my head π
In ep.11 after bandaging up Pete when Vegas sat down beside him, Pete asked him, "what happened to you?" And vegas just... he just answered him truthfully that his dad had just visited. No lies, no manipulative or back answers, no silence or ignoring of the question he just simply told Pete what happened. And this surprised me.
But then as I proceeded in the show I began to understood why. Why did the same Vegas who always held his head up high and was never vulnerable infront of anyone just told Pete (practically his enemy) that his dad beat him. It was because at the end of the day he just needed someone to ask. Someone who atleast cared enough to ask. And Pete fortunately did. (Tho I believe Pete asked more because he was trying to see who Vegas actually was and find smth good in him but he did ask)
Then after Pete also opened up about his abusive father it seemed Vegas started looking at him in a completely different light. In the last scene of ep.11 Vegas again visited Pete after getting beaten up and when asked about if it hurt he replied "It did. But idky it's not as bad as before." Which is again so commendable of him cause very few people find the courage to say this. To say that they're not ok.
And as his and Pete's relationship developed and Vegas seemed to get more comfortable with him, he became more open and direct. In ep13 as soon as he came to senses about how he was hurting Pete, he apologized. Again and again, even begged Pete to stay cause he needed him. During the fight too, he confessed. Knowing that he might not make it out alive he told Pete that he loved him. Without expecting anything back just as if he didn't want to regret never saying this to Pete atleast once.
And all this because Pete asked. He kept on asking. He showed care and concern for him and gradually gave the equal amount of love he got from Vegas back.
Exactly.Pete was holding his emotions back to the point that he did not allow himself to feel things a human being…
Ya it irks me when people say only pete changed vegas and "brought him to light" or smth. The development took place both ways. They both made each other better.
With Pete it always felt to me like he never acknowledged his emotions and feelings. Like in general it seemed he just viewed himself as others viewed him, a mere bodyguard. He showed sympathy and empathy to others but never to himself. Like how selfless one has to be to go on a suicide mission willingly, for a friend?
But somehow someway Vegas managed to change that too. For example in ep13 while Vegas was preparing food for him Pete was questioning himself as to why he slept with him. It seemed more like the head of the major family bodyguard talking to himself but after all that wrath & frustration Vegas released on him? He said "I'm a human Vegas. I have feelings to." That seemed like the real Pete. And this tells us how he started acknowledging his feelings.
After escaping he even allowed himself to cry and miss Vegas which even the major family noticed. And in their reunion scene I think he at last accepted them. Admitted to himself that he loved Vegas.
And thus finally during the battle he resigned saying he could not ignore them anymore.
Ok but when will that Saturday come when we'll not be missing kp? When will that Saturday come when we'll finally watch and discuss the hell out of the 1st ep of the 2nd season?? :((
