I haven’t been this irrationally angry at a character since Kelly in When the Devil Calls Your Name. OH MY GOD Beom Seok needs to get his HEAD out of his ASS!!
Just finished binging this and boy do I have a few things to say. Here are some things that I loved and hated. I'll start with the loved since I feel the hated will be quite long and full of rants lol Also this is actually my second time writing all of this because I accidentally closed the tab and it erased everything...hope I remember what I wrote....
LOVED: 1. I have a guilty pleasure of rooting for the bad guy. In this case, it was the main character and I thought he was so cool!!! I love characters that hide their cold real self behind a mask. Maybe it's because I do that o.o except not in a serial killer way lol I love a good serial killer story and let me emphasize that I said STORY!! I do not think the same in real life. I do not like the idea that people have romanticized the idea of serial killers nowadays. I promise I'm not crazy lol
2. Lots of twists and turns!! I forgot how thrilling it is to watch a mystery thriller like this. I love coming up with theories with other people. Keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat! It also gives me a lot of stress so I can't watch them all the time hahaha
HATED: 1) Bong Yi annoyed the absolute F out of me. I HATE characters that jump to conclusions without the tiniest bit of thought. As soon as she thought she found out who killed her grandma she just busted out guns blazing. No thought. No plan. Just action. I'm all for someone getting their revenge but THINK IT THROUGH FIRST. And then there's her attitude...oh god...This was mostly in the beginning and I mostly passed it off as her being a bratty teenager...but if I ever spoke to anyone like she spoke and acted to her grandmother...I would be slapped into the next dimension.
2) I don't like the sci-fi route they took. A brain transplant? Really? I was really enjoying a realistic story and then they went with brain transplant which is HIGHLY unrealistic. Oh and now he has emotions? Emotions make you weak... and they did. Maybe I'm just disappointed because I didn't get to see his true cold self really in action except for in a few flashbacks.
3) HATE the amnesia trope. Always and forever. I avoid/drop any show that has it but thought I'd stick around this time to see where it goes. He forgot everything about his true self just pretending to be nice and then a good portion of the show was him struggling mentally because he was afraid he was turning into a bad guy due to the transplant when HE WAS NEVER GOOD TO BEGIN WITH. I was actually sort of relieved when he killed the bird, not because I was happy the bird died, but because I thought he was still himself and he was just acting again but....nope...
4. Choi Hong Joo also annoyed tf out of me but more for different reasons. I actually really liked a part of her character like how strong and tough-skinned she is to have Yohan's baby with all of the news buzzing around. I will give her that. My main issue was how her parents just thought she was dead allllllllllll those years and her mother was literally worried SICK because of her all because she couldn't face them? They were in mental distress all those years because couldn't take the 2 seconds to even just write them a postcard saying "hey I'm not dead." That just really irked me.
5. Don't even get me started on Yohan T-T our precious baby. My only complaint about him was just how he died. He was actually recovering and doing well when Head Hunter took his brain. I would rather the story just told me he succumbed to his gunshot wound. Don't tell me he was going to recover and then rip my heart out and stomp on it. I'll be crying for the next millennia thanks....
As expected this turned into a rant but I promise I did like the show. Not my ultimate favorite but very good. It's extremely long but if I finished it, then it's gotta be good lol
In a series about a college swim club, shouldnt the swimmers have athletic-looking bodies? Several of these guys…
LMAO yes, but I have been a competitive swimmer for 20 years and actual real life male swimmer bodies do look like that. Maybe not at the Olympics but normal bodies do. My main concern was with Team's flip turn during his race! That was atrocious!! 😂 I know it's dramaland where nothing is ever realistic because Prem is just an actor doing his best....but good gracious I gasped out loud lol
it was sooo slow😭😭and what's with the Open Ending😶🌫️I dont want another season lol
Right? I wanted to finish it and find out what happens....so I read the recaps and only watched the scenes I wanted to. It was SO slow! We'll see if they confirm for a season 2
I loved the show...But I don't think Nut deserved Tofu. (Excuse the immaturity and bitterness.)
RIGHT?! Nut was so toxic and abused Tofu so much! Tofu deserved much better. I want to say Nut got better throughout the show...but did he really? Anything that is slightly upsetting he just BLOWS up...
