Yeah, that’s true, at this point, I don’t think he really knew what he felt honestly, he was probably trying to figure that out too. Yeah, I am glad he took a double take and did some thinking after Yan had that conversation with him. It was as if he saw everything in a different light. And even started continuously defending her in front of her parents. His character is actually quite intense. I was actually more interested in knowing about him than the main couple.
Yeah they were both suppressed to the point where even when he showed kindness to people, he might have thought to himself if he was even doing the right thing. That kindness he had to him is also what pulled me in, because he looked mean, only cares about his sister, but he was still kind to other people.
I wanna watch more of his works now. But when I was looking through his past works, and after reading the synopsis.. I couldn’t find a storyline I related with, so I am looking forward to his future works.

This is a great analysis. I also felt that he went through all those hard times with their parents, with her probably felt that he didn’t want let go or he would be alone with the horrible parents. Obviously his only solace and someone who fully understood him way better was her. I am curious though, didn’t she have an idea how he felt about her? Especially if it was from childhood and the mother noticed and made sure to change her name to theirs? Is there any explanation of this in the book? At times it came off as if he was merely being a protective brother only, of which he was but at times, it felt like he had more than brotherly feelings for her. But it’s amazing how he let go in the end when he did realize how depressed and unhappy she was and how she became happy when she was with Song Yan. And then what was the point of showing us the waitress in the end? Lol that she had turned her life around? Like they showed doing acts of kindness and then just like cut her off again lol. Man, I am just sad that he didn’t end up with no one at all.

Yeah. After reading this, I now understand some facial expressions and how he wants to help her but still wants to keep ahi’s distance. Yeah it’s so clear how he can’t do anything without the mother finding out and even approving of it.

Oh no!!! now I hate her lol! That’s why he treated her like that at restaurant lol. Here I was hoping he could have a happy ending. She seemed a little bit genuine! I guess she’s a user lol. Now I get the whole, inviting herself to his home , as well as other things etc… now I just feel sorry for him… I would wish him to be free off his mum and get to be happy with someone….
