I am not feeling it yet. I have watched approximately half of episode 1, but it seems that the writers have taken…
Ironically enough I thought it was fast-paced and thrilling, but let's let the drama stand on its own two feet first before we start comparing it to others. Just through the first episode we have good context about the main male characters and how they live and get along. With so many characters there is a good potential of interesting subplots along with a mystery and tragedy set-up in episode one to unravel into the later episodes.
What's really interested me so far is the dynamic between each of the male leads and they're wife. In the brief time we were given with each couple, I'm excited to see how the writer navigates and explores each relationship.
The group of guys and their humor overall was, in a word- elementary, but that's to be expected from a group of guys hanging out together and I laughed along with them.
There's so many unanswered questions and moments in the future I long for that One Spring Night me with.
Does Young-jae finally pass the civil service exam? Ji-ho meeting Jeong-in's father for the first time. Seo-in as a single mother and potentially returning to her career. Jeong-in being a mother. Eun-woo as a big brother. The wedding.
All of these plus more made the drama that more special and significant to me personally.
Beware episode 8 is a hard watch. You will rage, you will cry, you will kick and scream. You will want to punch a wall. I'm not even sure how I finished the episode, but hopefully with the bad passing we can finally get some sweet, sweet revenge in the next episodes.
