I think that her mom was fishing for rich husband when they were young and therefor neglected her and her brother. When she married and her husband died- the kids were already damaged by her behaviour.. she wanted to repay them and left them the money .. or something. That's why Eun Hee wastes the money withouth any regret.. and that's why the mom isn't accepted as her mom.
