Well the writers and director told that is a story full of characters and the writers want to tell all stories.
I agree with you on the fake daughter´s plot, it was a bit too much, but JBY/Mudeok, Park Jin, Kim Do ju, Yul, are main characters not supporters.

i think we should try to undertand the purpose better.
