Nowadays there are so many actors/actress/idols dressed down and work in restaurants, cafe, farms, ranch, shops in reality shows. The scenes where Crystal Liu waiting for tables in cafe, helping in kitchen in the drama reminds me too much of the reality shows.

I would say the drama is almost 88% of the anime including dialogues but some scenes were added in the drama although it did not alter the main plot. One key supporting character is missing called White Tiger, one of the 4 Guardians of Tianqi, who is Xiao Chuhe's Master's daughter. So far 3 Guardians appeared , Azure Dragon ( Lei Jun Jie), Vermilion Bird ( Sikong Qianlou) and Black Tortoise (Tang Lian) already accepted the token and responsibilities to protect 6th prince Xiao Chuhe.

This drama is originating from a very popular donghua/anime titled " great journey for teenager" ( but same Chinese title) that already has a huge fanbase.

Not sure if you intend to watch the drama or anime first but they are equally good.

Both are from youku. I couldn't wait for the drama to air to know what's next so i watched the anime, which is quite advance in Season 2. Season 1 ending in anime is near the timeline of ep 12 in drama.

I discovered Li Hongyi in Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me s1 and s2 with Xing Fei (available in YouTube). Then he acted in LIBTI and Prodigy Healer with Zhao Lusi, which were kinda overshadowed by FL. Now both Laosi and Xing Fei are at much higher demand and success compared to their early days with Hongyi.

From commercial perspective, maybe those producers who cannot afford Cheng Yi can look for him as alternative as both have that ancient drama male lead aura and mannerism. Li Hongyi not just need to improve his acting, his fight scenes must look convincing (Cheng Yi is pretty good) which I believe in later episodes of The Blood of Youth will be showed. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 hope this will be his breakout role to propel him to traffic actor!

Difficult to find a suitable young actor with some experience in playing a tormented prince who can pass looking 22-23 years old at the time of shooting. Li Hongyi has potential but without breakout roles, like that his recent work Legendary Life of Queen Lau tanked in ratings with bad reviews.

Same age as Dylan Wang also 24 years old, Li Hongyi debut even earlier than Didi but not as lucky. Hopefully Li Hongyi gets his big break in this wuxia drama.
