To those who have watched the original Japanese drama! I've pretty much remembered every scene in the original. Will this ruin the experience if I watched this version?
This movie is based on a true story. Although an HEA, the ending just hurts. Other foreign actors act somewhat awkward when they appear in Asian dramas but Thomas nailed it... slayed it!
Defendant was an exhilarating drama. Ji Sung was exemplary and he's now my new favourite actor. As always, Uhm Ki Joon was heinous. I've only seen one drama of him acting as a good man and that was Dream High. In dramas, I despised him. As an actor, I salute him.
The prison inmates were hilarious and I enjoyed their sense of humour. It was refreshing to see a drama which involved jolly and sweet prisoners. I have one little disappointment, though. It was the ending where they were all reunited. They should've left one chair for Lee Sung Kyu, it would've been more dramatic.

Overall, it's 9/10 from me.
Is it just me, or is anyone else out there crying for Gil Tae Mi right now? Is it wrong for me to root for that villain? Hu hu hu
