Basically he always sacrificed himself and did everything for his friends, hoping to receive affection in exchange. But he always ended up being hurt, even in the novel he shared that once he heard his "friends" saying that he was good at studying, not at socializing, and they were just his friends so they could get good grades. His friends several times lied to him, even making him meet up with a guy who was harassing him as everyone knew he was gay. He got his heart broken more than once, and swore to never fall in love again. I'm not surprised by the way he keeps himself quiet, hence I guess he learnt that sometime silence is better than words. He had secretly liked Punlee since he saved him from the guy that was harassing him, watching him from afar, distant, just like the Moon. But what he didn't know was that, Punlee, as distant as the Moon, actually also liked him, being so whipped and simping ovet the cute introverted guy. By the way I haven't finished the novel okay but so far, I really like it, maybe you could give it a try

It wasn't that bad I guess, I prefer it when the characters stare at each other (like Punlee and Glaijai, I need more scenes) I'm not really into those kind of scenes so I was like okay I didn't skip it I just awkwardly stared at the screen (coming from someone who hasn't even held hands so haha)
