I still don't get the Four Faced Buddha novel from which this was adapted. I mean that buddha is a powerful symbol for fulfilling desires related to work, love, family, wealth, and health. How is it connected to the story? Good thing that they changed it to My Shore as it encapsulates Fan Xiao's fear and experience....a shore maybe a place for peace or a place for fear...depending on the context. Or was it 'waiting to ambush or preparing for a siege?'

The fact that the series is bloody red all over, I can't imagine them having a catchy and subtle OST...I imagine it would be like ABO desire cuz Revenged love still has lovely OST

Actually, in Chinese and most asian countries like Korea, they don’t name their children after their ancestor and/or grandparents cuz they don’t want to ruin the name of that grandparent regardless if they’re living or not. It might be true that some of these asians have fully assimilated in your country that they don’t follow that tradition. Anyway, we asians know what is tradition and why you a foreigner with a non-Asian blood teach us our tradition? We just simply correcting the false Western thinking about us. Even so, maybe the ones you socialize with are 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants that’s why they don’t know about it. BTW, in korea, they still have Korean names, they only adopt a Foreign name thru baptismal cert. It doesn’t mean that they changed their name but for international use, they use it. It is also true that in Korea, certain families follow a tradition where the second syllable indicates from what generation he was. Usually they follow the father’s generational naming conventions. The first syllable basically is after the birthdate or how auspicious the name should be if you’re born at that date and many considerations.

Yeah and naming your offsrings after dead relatives even ancestor is like defecating or ruining their names. I'm half chinese and we have that custom...Cuz whenever a parent would scold the child with their ancestor's name also admonishing or like bad wording the ancestor which is heinous in our culture....The honoring one's ancestor thing is brought by Westerners....BTW you are right that in Korea they have such naming convention but I haven't yet ask my korean friends if they follow that naming convention religiously cuz I only know that the Byeon (Pyun) family strictly follows that naming convention.
