Yeah and naming your offsrings after dead relatives even ancestor is like defecating or ruining their names. I'm half chinese and we have that custom...Cuz whenever a parent would scold the child with their ancestor's name also admonishing or like bad wording the ancestor which is heinous in our culture....The honoring one's ancestor thing is brought by Westerners....BTW you are right that in Korea they have such naming convention but I haven't yet ask my korean friends if they follow that naming convention religiously cuz I only know that the Byeon (Pyun) family strictly follows that naming convention. That I know cuz of Byeon Woo Seok...His name follows that kind of convention...
