I think they are trying to put things in a box. Everyone have their own inclinations and likings, do they not? You might like the thriller genre more than fantasy, for example. If suppose I don't like romance genre in general, then I am more likely to rate a romance show low if I happen to watch it when compared to other genres. The same can be said for this one. It's dark, gritty and a little uncomfortable. Also, at times boring. It falls more under the genre of literary fiction than entertainment, and not everyone has the taste or the patience to sit through 6 hours of a show that leaves them with more questions than answers. It will frustrate a lot of people, no doubt. At the same time, there are people who might enjoy that challenge. People for whom shows like these are staple. They will be willing to ignore the entertainment factor and rate it higher. I think that's what they mean with it "being not for everyone." Nothing to loose heart over, Sapio. Your reviews are unparalleled in this platform and I bet the person who wrote those words hardly ever had tried to understand a show as deep as you have.
The one thing I have understood is that this series is extremely polarising, and so far I have only heard or read strong opinions. I think we need to wait and see how second season shapes up, and maybe then there will be an order to this chaos. Not all cinema is out there to entertain. Some can simply exists as an warning. I think this is a misunderstood show. Just finished watching it for the second time, and I think it was never about the entertainment. It was about showing a mirror to the society. If you like dark realistic human nature stuff, go for it.

I don't think the director wanted it to be entertaining in the first place. With a plot like this, it would have been easy. Instead, I think It was meant to terrify you. Because what is depicted here is Real. Way Too Real. I read people complaining about how the government or the police should have reacted in real life, but that's not it. This! This is how they actually react!They do nothing because they are politicians. They need the votes. Instead, there are much more chances that maybe it's the government who is responsible for all this. The story is not over yet, so it's a speculation. In real life though, that is how it happens.

The Helplessness, the Fear and how some people are always ready to use it to their advantage. Your freedom to think and react is taken away Once you realise that, you understand 2 things. First, why this series exists in the first place. And second, how close this world is to insanity.
A few unexplained things, and all that's all it takes for the world to go crazy.

F*cking EPIC exploration of Human Nature. For anyone who is complaining, I will recommend you to look at it from a more realistic prespective than a story's. This is how Humans behave when religious Fascism (even if to a small degree) takes over a majority of people. As someone who lives in India, this was extremely relatable. We have seen it first hand. The way people justify voilence, the way some people with power take advantage of it, all of these aspects has been decipted with pinpoint accuracy. Haven't seen a show as strong as this one in a long time. This was bigger than just an entertaining story. This was reality fused with fantasy at it's best.
