Heartbreaking, emotional, amazing!

Oh my gosh that was so good! I'm not going to try to be all poetic and proper, I just want to gush about how good this series was. There was such good chemistry amongst the characters. And I swear, every time Ung smiled, I melted. So now I'm just a puddle of goo trying to operate the keyboard to say how much I liked this.

I didn't cry a lot, which in itself is a miracle, because I'm a crier. There were a couple of tears shed here and there though. If there hadn't been, I don't think I'd have liked it as much. That last episode definitely tugged at a heartstring or 2.

There were a lot of flashbacks, especially to the first documentary, but they were done well and I loved them. There weren't too many scenes throughout the whole show where I questioned whether I should fast-forward. But honestly, it's 16 episodes....I think there were 2 or 3 that I thought about doing the Netflix 10-second skip. To have that few is a win in my book, and I never did skip for fear of missing something.

It wasn't fast paced, but it wasn't so slow as to be uneventful. I swear I was heartbroken for the first 13 or so episodes, and several times I went to the MDL individual episodes to comment, but I never wrote anything, as I was too much into the "what's next" of the series. Truly, it was WAY better than I thought it would be.

So cute!

This is probably the sweetest series I've ever watched! It could have been cringey, but wasn't. There could have been a ton of second-hand embarrassment, but there wasn't. It was pleasant to watch, and made me smile over and over.

Rui Rui is so adorable, and one of the most talented child actors I've ever seen! He stayed in-scene and stayed focused on the actors, as opposed to paying attention to what the filming and production team was doing. He delivered his lines with just the right amount of emotion or attitude required.

A lot of time, actors will deliver the correct look at another character, and then their look will drop into something more real. Zhou Jun Wei as Cheng Mun was able to not only maintain the correct look, but the way his face settled made you think, "Oh, he really likes her!" This is exactly how the show was able to maintain it's level of sweetness.

I'd like to know if there will be a second season, because there's so much left at the end that they can build on. I am dying to know if Ning and Wan Jie finally get together. Ning might have to knock him on the head to make him realize what's standing next to him all day, every day. But also.....there was a hint at the end of the last episode of better things to come....

I'm so glad I watched this. Sweetness overload!

Unpopular opinion

I seem to have an unpopular opinion of this series. I very much enjoyed the acting in this drama, and I know a lot of the actors are seasoned and fairly well-known. However, the time travel trope is not my favorite, and it made me cringe way more than I would have liked. I powered through it though, and I did like the majority of it, mostly because of the actors/acting as opposed to the story. I can see that they tried to make it "not" cringy, but still.... And I did shed a few tears in the appropriate moments. Strangely, the part I liked most in this drama was that the protagonist died, and they actually let him be dead for a while....that was new.

I'm glad I watched it, but I probably won't revisit this show again.

So good!

I've watched this 3 or 4 times already, and more when you consider how many times I rewatched scenes and clips. I absolutely love this series! Idk why I haven't reviewed it yet....but the more I watch it, the more I like it. The music has me bopping along to it without me realizing it. The sweet kisses makes me smile. I love that there is growth within both the main characters. All the characters are portrayed really well in my opinion.

I swear, my favorite scene is when Jae Young walks around the corner in a leather biker jacket and winks at Ryu Ji Hye. I think I'd have had the same stunned reaction that the 2 girls did! LOL

So lets talk about what I don't like. Park Seo Ham has a really good complexion. So why do they have to put so much makeup on him?? As good looking as he is, there are times when he reminds me of a corpse because of the heavy makeup they use. That's not cool. Also, the last episode is a little rushed in my opinion. They could have given it 5 more minutes and it would have been fine. And...um....I think that's about it. I think there's nothing else I disliked.

If you haven't seen it yet, it's definitely worth watching.

Adorable!

This was such a good series! It was adorable. There were no cringey scenes. (There's one scene that could have been cringey but wasn't, so bravo!) There were multiple issues touched on but the main story stayed on course. My ONLY complaint is that it was too short. I would have liked to have seen so much more of every part of this sweet little story, including the side characters.

(And now to cheat the system for the required 500 characters.....)

It was cute, it was sweet, it was fluffy, and I loved it.

I usually read reviews after I've watched (binged) a series, and I wonder how people forget that this is a Rom-Com....emphasis on the comedy part. It has it's silly moments, like over-the-top acting and crying and such. Lots of reviewers have developed a standard that simply can't or won't be met in all BL's for various reasons. This was not meant to be a serious drama. It does have plenty of serious moments though, and I found that the actors were really good.

Things I did not like:
-It's rarely necessary to have the actors pause for 5 seconds with every 4-ish words of script. Sometimes I forget the start of the sentence by the time they get to the end of it.
-It bothered me that Kim brought up that his parents had run away together, when Kim's father had passed away prior. Did they leave the small kids with someone? Or did they gloss over the fact that this is his mother's second marriage? (granted, they did not say it was a second marriage, so that is an assumption on my part.)
-I still don't understand sniff-kisses, but I've come to accept them.
-If I see another pinched cheek, I'm going to scream! Sheesh!

Things I did like:
-The actors were adorable
-My favorite characters were Park and Lee....I couldn't get enough of them and their entire storyline.
-The kissing/intimate scenes were MUCH better than most BL's.
-The amount of screentime that each couple had was great. We got to know the side characters/couples as well as the mains.
-There wasn't an extreme amount of couples staring into each others eyes, at least not to a ridiculous amount, except for the "catch-fall-kiss" trope (and honestly that wasn't too bad), but that was forgiven when the chancellor exclaimed "cliché." LOL
-I loved how the friends supported each other and their relationships, which is actually common in BL's, but still....
-The sisters!!!!!

I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a good, fairly lighthearted series. And Jeff Satur singing the OST???? Yes please!

Such a sweet story

This was just what my heart needed. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Do I care? Also no. This drama told a story. It was an enjoyable story with some pretty good acting. I actually found that the younger crowd was much more realistic in their acting than the seasoned actors. I enjoyed seeing a story where people cared about each other. I hate the "separate (for whatever reason) and see if our love lasts" scenario, but it is what it is, and at least there was a happy ending.

I love that Sky was crying before he even looked up in final lake scene. I loved the heartbreak Sun exhibited every time Sky cried/yelled/stormed off. I love that Sky berated his father for treating Sun like a pet. I love that there weren't a bunch of unnecessary scenes, or extended "looking off into the distance" contemplation scenes. I was invested throughout the entire series.

I kinda think that the second leads got shafted out of their love scenes....they had problems, questions, then suddenly they didn't. And those tests the father had Sun go through? That was just *&% (insert your favorite expletive.)

Regardless, I'm not sure why so many people gave bad ratings, but to each their own. I loved this. Now I'm going to watch the movie, because why not?

Adorable!

That was adorable!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTa92oDTLqA
for anyone looking for it.

And why do I need 500 characters when I just want to say that it was adorable???

Anyhow....I loved it. It was such a cute "short." My numbers do not average a 10, but I gave it a 10 anyway, because "music" is not really much needed in something this short, and it doesn't really have much "rewatch" value, but it was worth it. And, who knows, I might actually rewatch this for the feel-good value. I loved that the actors portrayed their characters so well that there was no cringe, at least for me.

Wish it were longer

There was adequate character development in this drama, despite it's short length. The story was good, and the production was good in my opinion. I even enjoyed the fight scenes....it's unusual for me to enjoy EVERY fight scene, but I did.... especially the scene where Gook had to fight his way into the house.

The drama had to move pretty fast in order to tell the story, but I think it would have been better if it were more fleshed out, a little slower, and had another few episodes. I enjoyed the acting and the story, I just wanted more.

Too hyped

As a newcomer to the BL genre, I have binged probably 30 or more dramas recently. As the BL fandom in general seems to think so highly of SOTUS, I decided to give it a try. I was sad to see that it was about as good as I expected. I'd hoped that it would blow me away, but it barely kept me interested. I failed to see any chemistry between the actors, onscreen or off. The character development felt like a car with a bad clutch. It just dropped scenes in your lap and failed to flesh those scenes out satisfactorily. I mean, what was the point of the haircut scene?? Why was Arthit crying behind the stadium? For that matter, why did the seniors decide that the juniors had won the flag??

I have tried to start watching SOTUS S, the second season.....it's 2 years later, why is Kong still chasing his boyfriend for attention? I may force myself to get through episode 1, but I'm not promising anything.

I think that the actors in SOTUS did what they could, especially with some of them being new to the drama world. I do not think the main actors and most of the side characters are shippable though. Prem and Wad are the exception. There was chemistry and potential there. Sadly, nowhere else that I saw. And I am happy to watch even the worst storyline for some good chemistry.

Worth it!

First of all, I am 100% in love with Folk's character (First.)

I was truly surprised to find that these characters had depth. I am kind of upset that this drama isn't getting better reviews. I think that if it had been longer and more able to flesh out the characters, the story would have required less interpretation on the part of the viewer. I suppose that for those who haven't experienced real life situations in which there were few words but lots of chemistry/emotion, these characters might be hard to understand, but in my opinion, the actors did a fabulous job in portraying the love/hate/attraction/disgust/confusion/guilt that can occur all at once. I saw one review that said they went from 0 to 100, then back to 0, but I disagree. If this were a novel with inner monologue, it would be much more understandable for those with no experience in this type of relationship, or those who have to have everything spelled out for them.

I am very upset that the characters of Namfah and (especially) Praew weren't better acted. I felt like I was watching a high school play when those characters were on screen.

Gameplay's and Folk's chemistry was everything. I'm going to go back and rewatch it now.....

Action packed, adrenalin filled

This series was so good! There were parts where I wanted to punch the screen, but they were the parts that I wasn't supposed to like, so I guess it's fine. LOL.

Actually, I was yelling at my computer screen, saying things like, "Accidents aren't scheduled during the 9-5 workday! You need trauma service available 24/7!" and "Am I the only one that thinks that the funeral department shouldn't be the highest profiting department in a hospital???" and also, "Why do profits come before patients???"

On the flip side, I did a lot of cheering. The anesthesiologist and the nurse were absolutely my favorites. But without Number One and Dr. Baek, there would have been no favorites, sooo..... And the action! At the end of the first episode, all I could say was "Wow!" After that, I was hooked to binge the rest of the show. (I did have to cover part of the screen occasionally so I didn't make myself queasy....I can handle blood, but, like, sometimes the internal gore makes me want to look away. It didn't bother me enough to stop watching though. I was too busy cheering for the medical staff and first responders.)

I'm not normally a medical drama fan, but I started this one on a whim, and I have no regrets!

Still one of my favorite dramas of all time

I'm writing this after a full rewatch of this drama. It was one of the best dramas of 2024, and continues to be one of the best I'll see in 2025. The acting is magnificent, believable, and emotional. The drama has steady pacing throughout: not too slow, and not too fast. The lighting, sound, camera work, production, direction-all very impressive. Over the years, considering the number of dramas I've watched, there aren't very many that I've rewatched. But not rewatching this one is out of the question.

Definitely in my top 10 for the year!

I just finished watching, and OH MY GOSH it was SO GOOD! I understand that it's a remake, and I haven't seen the original so I can't make comparisons, but I absolutely loved this drama! The acting was outstanding! The story was interesting. The music...well, not so much, but it didn't make me want to turn it off, so that's a plus. It seemed through most of it that if I wasn't laughing or smiling ear to ear, then I was crying...but I cry every time the actors do, so make of that what you will. The family was unrealistically heartwarming, but I don't watch dramas such as this expecting realism. It's a "possible but not probable" storyline, so it's not too far out in left field. I absolutely adored all of the mains and most of the side characters. Definitely worth the watch!

Communication is key

This story is about 2 people trying to navigate a relationship when both have different expectations of a relationship and what they think will make them happy. While Shuto is content with companionship, Rei becomes confused and insecure because Shuto hasn't "made a move" on her. Learning to communicate and making decisions based on their own desires, instead of the expectations of others, is a difficult but ultimately rewarding path for both of them.

I think that this would have been a better series if the writers had left out the attempt at humor and faced the story head on. I was kind of disappointed that this didn't go the asexual or aromantic route, because that would have been a new and interesting story. However, it did portray the insecurities of a new relationship. They took it a little far, though, by having the couple act as though neither had experienced sex, although one was experienced and the other had had sex at least once prior.

It wasn't a great story but it wasn't horrible (except for the attempts to break the 4th wall by talking to the camera bits.) More natural acting would definitely have been my preference. The attempt to draw the audience into the story just didn't work well here.

Please ignore the individual ratings, because...was there even music?
