I am doing the same about all the other shows that are airing currently too! It's usually gives me a peace of mind to watch completed shows. :) But this show has been a pleasant exception, as the gap b/w the eppys are giving me chance to re-watch some really cute scenes in each eppy multiple times! :D Also, I guess it's because I get to discuss these scenes with like minded friends here, so it's double fun! <3

This show's true genre according to me is of an unique and mature rom com set in the background of shady legal world! Like there is really no lack of comedy in this and romance needless to say, is the highlight of every episode of this show! <3 Many people I think are avoiding this without even giving it a chance thinking that it's only about dirty politics, which it surely deals with, but that is just a small part... The main highlight is romance and a some characters hidden past and mysteries associated with it... So if you don't mind grey characters and love to watch a good romance, you should definitely give it a try!

Happy to finally meet a Castle fan here! :) And about the courtroom stuff in Hyena, well all I can say in these total 10 eps, they might have shown an actual court for a total of 10-15 mins overall ! So, it's like negligible actual courtroom action but more behind the scenes stuff going on. Even that I would say is around 40%. The main focus is actually on romance and mysterious past! It's mainly about 2 headstrong ppl from different stratas of society falling for each other, one more than the other!
Fl is a street smart lawyer, who is ready to do anything to achieve her goal (her real goal is a mystery) and Ml is a high society well bred lawyer who also does many underhand things to win his case but gets away with it because of his status, the status of his work place and his rich clients ! All their clients are rich spoilt brats who are in reality not worthy to be saved and you feel like throwing rotten eggs on them :D but these 2 save them anyway for some moolah! So yeah, nobody is a saint in this show unlike Castle, here everybody is varying degrees of gray! :)
But the good part is that they show those rich jerks for a very little time and show more of fun people in their office and some really interesting romance b/w the leads! Basically lots of rom and com set up in a bg of shady legal world!
I think Romance picks up from ep 3/4, starting eps are more to establish their characters! Give it a try! It's really edgy!

I didn't know such things were there in shows too because I have till now only seen love triangles in most shows I have watched and have seen these genres only in animes/mangas... But anyway my fav scenario, being a girl is of course a reverse harem scenario ! :D
My fav rev harem anime is Ouran host! That anime was awesome! Couldn't find any on that level... If anyone knows similar ones, please rec them to me!

Also, even though I am not big harem genre fan, one anime I truly liked was 'Ranma 1/2'. Super hilarious and totally amazing! :D I recently learned that it's a very very old one, but it never felt old while watching!

Actually this show gives me the same feels I used to have when I used to watch Castle... Is there anyone else who thinks so? I am huge Castle fan and I feel so happy finally getting to watch something equally interesting again!
Because just imagine, the Fl here is a badass no nonsense lawyer and in Castle, the fl (Beckett) is a badass no nonsense cop of nypd! Both the mls are total sweethearts and very funny! Not to mention the awesome feels and chemistry b/w the leads! <3 There are many more similarities but then I would be spoiling it if you haven't watched both.
In short, if you are a fan of 1, you'll definitely like the other too!
So for Hyena fans who feel the long wait to nxt Saturday a torture, I rec you to watch Castle, right from Season 1 episode 1, because that episode is still one of my many favs, it sets the tone of the whole show perfectly! :)

Episode 10 was all sorts of interesting! Be it in romantic pursuits of our 2 favs leads or in showing us their vulnerable sides! This show seriously doesn't waste time in moving the story forward! Every scene is important, nowhere I felt like fast forwarding like I feel for most other shows! Can't wait for another week now! Arrgh! :D

Also did anyone else feel that in kids fight case, instead of the car driver, they should have actually asked that teacher who lost her job because of reporting this case to her seniors, should have been reinstated? I mean that kid needs to be taught some kindness but her job issue seemed more important than that. Maybe they should have asked for both...

I liked how our badass FL behaved as if she's a naive young girl taken in by his charms and went along with Kevin the whole day, only to smilingly tell him off in the end, how she won't play his pawn if he doesn't spit out the truth about the whole purchase gimmick right then and there! XD Her threat was so smooth that if you blink you'll miss it! :D

Jealous yhj is so funny! XD The way he threatened her sec for info was so hilarious! No dialogue but felt like he was saying - I fell in her trap because you gave her all the info about me and now I am in too deep, so you better do everything to make this ship sail!
Sec is like - I don't want to betray my boss but I can't help my shipper heart either, so I will gladly be your GPS! Lol :D

I am going back to watch it again now! Every episode of this show needs to be watched minimum 2-3 times at least, it's that good ! <3

Oh yeah, even I am getting strong ' I am Physcometric' vibes from it! That show was nicely shot and I liked it except their decision to kill that lady cop off! I mean creatives could have made her live and showed her becoming a total badass cop later instead of making her a martyr... She could have found someone way better than that 2nd lead character who didn't love her and lived her personal and professional life happily! Hmmpf! :/ Anyway my grumblings aside :), what is Remember? Does it also deal with some superpower stuff?

For me regardless of who is acting, I care only about the characters in that particular show. It's all about the script for me too! I may not like a character but still like the actor because their ability is acting and if they do it in a believable way, then they have done their job right. Also about De Luna, well I agree she was portrayed as an ott character in most part because the whole premise of a person being 1000 yrs in itself is unreal! But in the essence if you see she is a strong character not because she threatened people physically, but because she was emotionally strong to let go of what she could have had to do the right thing. She did not whine like a baby walking to her death and was dignified till the very end. That for me was an impressive trait. :)

About 'Beauty Inside' : I watched it long back, so from my memory all I can say is that it was a good enough show and actors were all good but may be they dragged it a little towards the end, I guess. Characters, especially females are strong so that's a definite plus! I had actually seen the movie first and then the show, so maybe that's the reason I felt it was dragged. The movie though is a definite recommendation! Totally mind blowing and I don't use the word lightly! Haha Because seriously, after watching the movie you will be definitely thinking about the whole, 'what is the meaning of Love' and all for a day or 2! :D

I have not watched any except Miss Oh which I dropped mid way for the same reasons... I have seen many a 'Strong Female lead' tags that are totally misleading (My main unpopular opinions being Secret Garden, Doctors and the other one where the FL is a pastry chef). It's all about how the writers want to portray their FLs because the same Miss Oh FL was a totally awesome in Beauty Inside!

Females being occasionally emotionally distressed like maybe after a break up or something equally bad is normal because everyone goes through it regardless of their gender and almost everyone recovers from it eventually but making a person always seem emotionally desperate is just frustrating to watch.

I think 'badass' and 'kickass' should not just mean you can kick the ass of people who physically abuse you, but should also mean that you have the emotional endurance to fight against people who emotionally abuse you regardless of whoever the opposite party may be...

As soon as I read the Title of this post, Secret Garden was the first name that cropped into my head as it's a super unpopular opinion too! I guess I am the only one who feels so cheated having watched it just because of that 'strong female lead' tag and accompanying high ratings! :( How I wish she was emotionally strong as opposed just physically strong...

Me too! This is the only show I am actively looking forward to! I started Memorist because I am a fan of ML and the detective genre both but first 2 eps did not impress me much... Hopefully future eps will be good... Anyway do join the Hyena discussion! :)
