Geez. This is the most sexual Korean (mmm..I think Asian in general) movie I've seen thus far. Several explicit…
Yeah, now. Not when I originally watched and posted two years ago.
I didn't have a problem with the movie--I did like it. My only point then was that I had no idea what I was getting into. There weren't any reviews, no comments, no mature category, nothing, then. Which is why I posted what I did two years ago for the benefit of others.
Me: Waikiki....WAAAIIIKIIIKIII...
My sister, to my mom (whispering, as if I can't hear her): Why is she saying "Waikiki"?
Mom: I don't know, she's weird, just ignore her.
LOVE Protect the Boss! One of my favorites. I enjoyed Powerful Opponents, one of the first few dramas I watched, as well. I especially liked that she reacted the way I would to the love triangle--getting fed up with the attention--and the triangle's "resolution." Definitely different than the usual, yet satisfying.

yes! I'm a V.I.P. A lazy one, but one nonetheless. Sorry for the month-late reply xD

oh my goddess, where did you get the boom shaka laka image? I totally love it.

haha, no problem--I thought it was the least I could do since I was so flippin' surprised myself, and since MDL doesn't have a ratings/sexual content tag thing, I wanted others to be aware before watching. I agree, the synopsis does not make it sound like it'd be like that at all! Then again, you wouldn't really expect that from a Korean movie...and most certainly not a Korean drama. My dad already calls Asian dramas/movies "Asian porn"...>_<
Does anyone know where I can watch this?, I've been looking for a while but still can't find it :/
try one of the links at http://www.iwannawatch.ch/2011/01/beauty-on-duty-2010/ I had success with the first one. :)
oh yeah, if it says you need to install a plugin, just ignore that. I didn't need it--I think it's a fake notification.
oh. I'm an idiot. I should probably check out the air dates more often xD unfortunately, Chinese dramas don't tend to get as much sub priority as Korean or Japanese...*sigh*
I liked it :) There wasn't much romance, though it's hinted at and you get the idea from the ending wrap-up. More than anything, I think it was strong on the bromance of the two main characters, which was entertaining. I guess the movie only made $9k in Hong Kong and didn't do well in the US either, and I've seen some pretty harsh reviews when searching for the movie online, but I didn't think it was as bad they thought. I was entertained and happy after watching, and that's all that matters to me.
Oh, and the two female assassin thief ladies were super cool...though I was disappointed they were under the control by some demented guy.
Good movie. I wouldn't really call it comedy, though; at least not according to my tastes, though there were some funny moments. Everyone learned something, matured, had a happy ending...I really liked the sleazy (at least, she seemed that way to me at times) party-and-money-loving twin's story the most. She seemed like an unhappy wreck who struggled to keep herself together. I can't speak from experience, but I think the other twin's story was realistic--it makes sense when you've been with someone for so long--10 years--that you'd feel a little bored and stale and want to try something different. I didn't want her sister to corrupt her with her twisted money values though!
My favorite line? "In my heart, you've already jumped off the building and committed suicide."
Hope I didn't give too much away...
Geez. This is the most sexual Korean (mmm..I think Asian in general) movie I've seen thus far. Several explicit sex scenes and full-on nudity and everything. I totally wasn't expecting that. Besides that, it's a good movie, nothing really spectacular, but several good scenes. The ending was great--I was waiting for that moment when they all realized who they were all dating xD
I'm confused on how she won the competition/tournament/whatever....it looked like she was losing to me. She was getting pretty badly beat up and started to fight out of desperation, so I was surprised when they declared her the winner. I'm guessing it's because of how well she started out that it made up for the end when she was taking all those hits? No clue, but as I don't know anything about boxing, I'll take their word for it...
This is what would be considered a touching, uplifting film. Inspirational for some, I suppose. The movie's message is to never give up no matter how hard life gets. But since I'm not much of a person into those emotional, heartfelt things, I'm not gonna get into that.
This was a good time-waster, and the two kids were adorable! There was definitely some funny and cute moments and I liked watching the main guy stubbornly "adapt" (if you call falsely threatening the internet and water supplier people adapting) to their way of life, and begin to care for the people there. The side story with the vending machine guy and the "pyramid scheme" ;) girl was nice too.
And some things weren't fully cleared up at the end, like where everyone is everyone living? I had to make an assumption for the two kids...I dunno, I like to have everything sorted out...xD
geez...there's too many Hong Kong/Chinese/Taiwanese movies/shows without comments. Which is a shame, since many are pretty good. This one was a nice watch for passing time, nothing outstanding I thought. I wish that since Jack got hired as a bodyguard, he'd actually provide those services, but there was no need at all. I did like watching Jennifer grow and mature, especially when I saw her getting down to the poor peoples' level and negotiating. Initially she was just a really (really) stupid girl.
